The hen bit is over-exaggerated. Women are social creatures and there's a unrecognized hierarchy within their social groups.
This is why you see average women hang out with land whales. The land whale is the lowest in the pecking order while the average is either somewhere in-between the ranks. The land whale gets a friend and the average girl looks and feels better.

I dreamed that I was walking a familiar street in a familiar town. But something was amiss. The streets were empty, devoid of life. No simple animal nor complex animal existed. I was a lone man walking the streets of an eerily familiar place. I wondered if I had stumbled upon something that should have existed. As I continued walking. I stopped in front of a familiar bar and from behind me a familiar face appeared. It was my old friend. I asked him where everyone was and he said "Ah, John is in the shop. Let me go and get him." He walked into the shop and as soon as he left another friend appeared. It was my oldest friend. He asked me what I was doing back and wanted to go to the pub. I said "I'm waiting on my friend to get John from the shop." My oldest friend said "I'll go get them. Wait right here." He entered the shop. A few minutes passed by and I began to wonder if they were playing a trick on me. I was about to go into the shop. But a woman stopped me and told me not to into the shop. As I got a closer look, I realized that woman was my wife of old. She asked me what I was doing back and I said "I was going to bar with my old friends." My wife came up and hugged me. Then she kissed me. Her embrace was a queer feeling. She was cold. But not lifeless. She was there in front of me. I shook off the feeling and I told her "Stay right here. Let me get my friends." I walked into the shop only to find it empty and utterly destroyed by time. There was nothing here. Not a soul. I was confused. Where did my friends go? I ran out of the shop only to find my wife of old was no longer there. She too had vanished. Leaving me alone in an empty town in an empty. Alone.

They sit down and as the butler is serving them. He drops the chicken on the floor and puts in back on the tray and serves it to the guests. The guests are obviously alarmed. But as soon as one of them stands up. The curtains open showing an audience waiting for the guests to deliver their line. The guests pardon themselves from the table and the director is feeding them the lines as the get out of there. But one guests stays and tries to say his lines. The audience starts booing and guest wakes up only to find out it's a dream.
