However, if you're in fullscreen mode, clicking off the game monitor will alt-tab out of the game.

The GBA has OG and OG 2.
Both of these were remade into a single pack for the PS2, called OGs. If you're fine with Japanese, then OGs is the way to go.
After that, it goes 2nd OG (Ps3) then Moon Dwellers.
I started on the GBA games. They're fine, but the PS2 ones are nicer.

And yes, they're fairly interconnected. You're not gonna be missing out on too much by just jumping in, although you're get more enjoyment if you go from start to finish. There's some rivalries and characters that are pretty cool if you go through all of them.

Endless frontier (DS) is more of an RPG with an interesting combat system.
The main character from that shows up in Project X Zone, as well as Moon Dwellers. He's the coolest cowboy to ever exist.

I find the restrictions that working with pixel art introduces pretty hard, especially once you get into animation.

I can draw pretty well.
But I'm really slow and the slightest distraction read:dogs and parents throws me off.
I'm inclined towards pixel art because I don't have to have exact anatomical features.
But since all four-legged animals sort of have the same body type. I can copy and past the body and pallet swap them or make some adjustments with height and length.
