Honestly, I think the worst influence on children is public school, especially early education. They teach them all kinds of harmful things, but act morally outraged at anyone who would dare suggest teaching their kids outside of that system because "They won't be properly socialized", as if fucking parks don't exist or something.

I haven't played Tropical Freeze for more than a few minutes on a friend's WiiU.
Basically, I think it boils down to that it's good as long as it makes the player want to overcome it.
If it makes the player just want to give up, then it's bad.
For me, it depends on what I'm looking for in a game.
For example, playing through bayo recently I'm not really looking for difficulty, so I'm just kind of playing through it without going in too deep.

>>42423
That's probably a good way to put it. I like games that are challenging, but that the average person should be able to clear with difficulty. Also, I prefer games with no difficulty selection at all than ones that you can choose your difficulty, but there's insane inconsistent jumps between them. Nier Automata was like that, where on normal the game becomes trivial very quickly in, but I can't clear the prologue on hard after many tries.
Also, I don't see the appeal of "Masocore" games like kaizo, or IWBTG. They can at least be fun to watch someone who is already really really good and can blaze through them, but it's not at all fun to watch someone on youtube struggling for the length of the video to clear a couple screens.

I think fighting games do difficulty well. You can enjoy the game at an extremely basic level, but there's all of the extra things that you can learn. So, if you want to put the time in to learn everything there is to learn, then it'll just heighten the enjoyment of the game.

Well, I've had something fly through my head recently. There was someone claiming to have morals in class and claimed that, despite being an atheist he was somehow a moral agent and therefore could discern what was good and bad.
But I came a across an issue when pontificating about what defines good and what defines bad. Clearly, the definitions are dictated by culture and religion…..But, the issue stemmed from can there be a universal good and a universal bad?
Someone defined good as telling the truth and thus lying is an inherent evil. But again two problems develop when I ponder on the question. The first is: telling the truth as an inherent good seems like it stems from a religious background and thus concluded that the bit is heavily influenced by the idea that truth is an agent of good.
second: The dilemma what defines truth becomes a giant thorn in my side. At first it was the idea that people interrupt truth differently makes this idea of truth being an inherent good null since no one can fully no the truth. Then came the other worrying accompaniment of white lies.or, little lies. Often times these lies are used to withhold certain and crucial info from getting out and thus damaging the integrity of someone or something. However, white lies are incredibly manipulative and can shape and from the idea and notions that someone has of that person or entity. This, would mean that the obfuscation of what can be define as true is therefore open the interpretation and manipulation.
If I was to go back to what defines good and bad. Society and religion sets the standards and thus, something that is considered bad to us maybe be good to another culture.
But yeah, just a brain fart.
b372ab No.42445
>>42444
Ask him why he feels that morality is a necessity in the first place, given the lack of anything beyond the material realm.
b372ab No.42446
>>42444
Not surprising at all.
Good/Bad is all in the eye of the person.
The left thinks we're bad people, we think they're bad people etc etc
b372ab No.42447
Also, I'm uncertain that honestly and morality are inexorably linked in the first place. There are many times you may tell a lie that bears no significance, or it could shield someone else from harm. Entering into a contract under false pretenses would certainly be immoral, but that's another thing entirely.
b372ab No.42448
>>42445
The man could barely conjugate an argument.
But if the moral nihilist approach were to taken. It would be a rather superficial argument.
Since if there is no material realm outside the of this life and life itself has always been and always will be why live at all?
His life, my life, your life are all devoid of meaning and thus the material pursuits of this world are not a worthy pursuit since they vanish after we are gone. Our memories are just and echo in the inevitable foot steps of time. So, it could be argued that since life is devoid of meaning and that the cold vacuum of space breathes on out neck. What purpose would there be in doing anything?
b372ab No.42449
>>42446
Are hugs good then?
b372ab No.42451
>>42447
The issue is with lies that have no consequences. Is if I take that definition of what good is, then it's inherently evil.
I would say that morality is linked since it is dependent on an act of good or an act of evil.
If I lie to someone the consequences and implications may not have been known at the time. But it can have far reaching moral ramifications.

b372ab No.42454
>>42448
>What purpose would there be in doing anything?
I suppose you could take it in that direction, but people are driven by instinct and primal urges to collect and take more. Someone could decide that there's no logical reason to exist in the first place since you won't be remembered in a couple hundred years, but the likelihood that he would then take the reasons next step and like, refuse to eat until he dies or something is incredibly low because there's no natural desire to do such a thing. Morality on the other hand is something that a society enforces on an individual rather than any sort of inherent quality. Within the absence of any kind of karmic balance on hand, I don't see how the ultimate morality could be anything other than "what action enhances the position of my group and I in relation to the other" and something that is immoral would only be the opposite.

I usually have to act upon good faith to make the daily decision to live or die.
Dying is naturally against any normal sentient lifeforms instincts. But that doesn't exclude someone from dying by their own hands. Instinct is a trait for survival only when it that is needed.
Some of us are less inclined to act upon instinct and take risks or endanger ourselves. So, it's not necessarily innate for everyone.
Morals are by definition "something acted upon by good faith." Which can be analogous to what you said. However, I want to state that society enforces conformity and that conformity to that society can be deemed as good moral.
By conforming to the norms of the society I am no longer a pariah and I can benefit and contribute to the better good of that society.
Anyways, back on topic.

>But that doesn't exclude someone from dying by their own hands.
But it almost entirely does. Even in the depths of despair, someone of healthy mind and spirit won't cast their life aside unless it's in pursuit of something that wouldn't be within their reach otherwise. You would simply be unable to.
And as far as conforming to society being a moral in itself, I would agree with you under normal circumstances, but within a society that almost by design is built in such a way that it is in a constant state of lessening it's position in relation to competing societies in the world, and thereby inviting potential harm to it's members, how could it be considered moral not to undermine it at every opportunity?
