Let's clarify some things before i run back typing 50k word posts about ww2.
1) Japan moved most of their factories to korea and mainland china.
2) manchukou was used as a testing ground for the japanese invasion of the Soviet union. There was a border skirmish with the soviets before ww2 and during 1945.
So, to fight the Soviets in Manchuria. The Japanese diverted a large portion of thier army to Manchuria.
3) Communist and Kmt guerillas began taking a heavy toll as japanese forces began redirecting their forces elsewhere
4) the royal Indian army started taking back Singapore and major maritime lanes. Thus cutting off Japanese oil supply lines.
5) japan was still at war with china when declaring war on the us.
