Well Shinto isn't just a single religion like christianity I think.
It's based on ritual practices more so than following a moral guideline.
National shinto is a form of shinto that came into practice during the meiji era
It had slightly different beliefs and was enforced by the emperor rather than letting it be conducted how people would want, I don't think it has many supporters now, it was basically a form of shinto used to control people.

86d5f7 No.125880
>>125879
What's paganism like?
210f2f No.125881
>>125880
Well… the easiest way to explain it would just be to point to the most prominent polytheistic religions of ancient western cultures. The Roman pantheon that you'd probably know well would be a pagan religion.
But any ancient European religion was effectively the worship of a multitude of gods that represented parts of culture or nature.
When Christianity swept through paganism was pretty quickly pushed out by Christian believing leaders and aristocracy that kind of condemned any paganism to be a peasant religion.
Interestingly enough, a lot of these lesser known pagan gods would be used as inspiration for demons, and evil spirits of witchcraft and the occult. The Lesser Key of Solomon is basically a compilation of ancient Northern European pagan gods re-described as demons lords that lead armies of demons in Hell.
210f2f No.125882
But yeah, since these "demons" were based on pagan gods, their descriptions are kind of funny… like, they don't do demonic evil things, they're described as being kind, and helpful. They teach moral philosophy, or about plants and herbs, and are capable of performing miracles like healing the sick or wounded, and grant people helpful familiars.
…which isn't too far off from the very basic aspects of Shinto it seems, where local gods that represent basic aspects of every day life are just kind of recognized at a small shrine, or temple.
86d5f7 No.125883

Wouldn't say that, they're both different ideas. CS is actually more focused on theories and focusing on algorithms when it comes to computers. Probably why they invented the Software Engineering degree.
