I always try to expect the worse or nothing, so I won't be disappointed, but I think I can say I was surprised by the conference in a good way. I still didn't like it, because I think I've set the bar to Sony's E3 2013. Plus the /v/ mentality. I don't wanna be a corporate shill I guess, but I try to be fair.
It was better than last year, since Microsoft was trying to focus on games instead of bringing a Porsche onto the stage. You always see that pattern with Microsoft. No games, then games the following year.
I absolutely loved how they shown Cyberpunk 2077 by "hacking" the stage. That was a great presentation. Oh and in the hacking video, those were game keys for The Witcher 3 on XBox.
