Nep 1 was really grindy and the combat was broken. Nep 2 was better. The Nep V came around and it was semi-decent. The the re-birth games made the games less grindy and added more content and more girls. Plus, they put out a kajillion side games that aren't RPGs and a they put out a cross-over.

I think the video cable is going bad, but it also makes an awful noise when it reads CDs occasionally, and also fails to read them every once in a while.
