Hey guys!

Male, American, neutral accent here.

I've been listening to hypno for like 3 1/2 years now and I think I wanna start recording files. I think this is the best place to ask for a little advice:

What software should I use?

What can I use to generate binaurals?

What are some do/do not's of hypno scripts?

Where is a good place to post the file to get feedback?

Thanks in advance!

TL;DR: any advice for a male aspiring hypnotist?

 No.54991

Bump. I'd appreciate any help I can get!

 No.54999

No need to bump your own thread, people will respond if they have something.

>What software should I use?

Whatever you're comfortable with. There's a shitton of DAWs out there, some of them free (like LMMS and Ardour).

>What can I use to generate binaurals?

http://gnaural.sourceforge.net/

>What are some do/do not's of hypno scripts?

The most important part of your script is the induction. Long, short, either is fine if you put effort into it. People will especially appreciate inductions if you tie them into the script's subject.

>Where is a good place to post the file to get feedback?

>TL;DR: any advice for a male aspiring hypnotist?

Unless you're targeting a group like sissies where almost anything flies if you layer enough effects onto the audio, /hypno/ can give decent feedback. There's one big problem: a lot of people flat out don't like trancing to male voices and male hypnotists have a history of reacting very badly to this (especially V1V3). If you desire success, you'll have to accept that many hypnofags will never try your files and do your best in spite of this.

>No need to bump your own thread

Good to know, thanks.

>you'll have to accept that many hypnofags will never try your files

As long as someone likes them, that's good enough for me. I've heard success stories, but they definitely are more rare. I don't think I'd personally react badly, I'm pretty passive about stuff like that.

Software:

Many people use Audacity as it's free. It really depends what the purpose and style of your finished product is intended to be. If you want a simple, close, intimate vocal with very little post-production then your microphone is the most important concern and then almost any software will allow you to make simple cuts.

However if you are interested in creating complicated soundscapes and mixing in effects, something with a little more sophistication might help. Audacity can do this but I find it a little fiddly. Personally, I like Logic as a DAW which allows me to mix multiple tracks together, automate effects and panning and produce a fine mix by the end.

Binaurals

You can do it manually by simple mixing two separate tones offset slightly apart in frequency on the left and right channels of your audio. For this, I like to use Logic, as I said, since you can automate the process and even use the automation to bring the beat interference down in frequency to target specific lower frequencies further along in the recording. Other than that, you could look at a free software called Gnaural which generates them.

Dos/Don'ts

This is a vague and vast question but if you know what you are doing then you should know how to create an induction, and not to skimp on the length of it, how to actually create suggestions and conditioning rather just simple assertions etc. The rest depends entirely on your content, your audience, your style. The vague but specific advice I can offer is: do actual hypnosis. We know it when we hear it. There is a huge swathe of rubbish out there that isn't hypnosis.

Feedback

Depends. Are you M4F, M4M, M4A? What kind of hypnosis are you creating? Erotic? Other? You could post it here and, if M4F ask for feedback specifically from femanons? There are a few here. Gonewildaudio is a more egalitarian spread if you can bear it. Get onto some discords.

>how to create an induction, and not to skimp on the length of it

Just don't fall into the delusion that long equals good. I've found too many files where the hypnotist made that mistake and the induction was basically 20 or 30 minutes of sad padding before the rest of the file.

 No.55005

>>55003

Quite so. Quality better than quantity - but then again, I couldn't count the number of inductions I've heard which dance through a laughably swift "walking down the stairs" nonsense then spend half an hour asserting an association.

Thanks!

>you should know how to create an induction, and not to skimp on the length of it, how to actually create suggestions and conditioning rather just simple assertions etc.

ok, hypothetically, yes I know what to do. So I guess the next squestion is, is there a structure I can follow? Like, a base set of bullet points that are then fluffed out:P

> Are you M4F, M4M, M4A? What kind of hypnosis are you creating? Erotic? Other?

would be M4A, I'm bisexual.

I personally enjoy erotic hypno, and there seems to be a lack of male tists there (probably for a reason =/). If

Honestly I would be wary of bullet points or cookie cutter structure. I think of a great hypnotic file like a short story. It has a theme, it has a unique execution which is all of a kind. And, I guess, it has a beginning, a middle and an end.

But what is the purpose of your file? What is the theme of your trance? What is the outcome, if you are intending to condition the subject, implant suggestions, develop associations? Is it part of a series that builds on previous files?

The best pre-recorded files I have enjoyed and subsequently studied have all begun with a proposition, created an induction that related to that proposition, then developed the theme later in terms of conditioning and association, often within a context of arousal, before returning from the trance.

But those are simply the files that I enjoy and that impress me.

Those are the kinds of things I like too. I just don't have fully-formed ideas yet :P I just wanted to put something out there and get some feedback from the ppl

One of the questions you should be asking yourself is what styles will your files have.

Hypnosis can be achieved in multiple ways.

Using voice moderation to encourage heart rate, breathing, and hormonal changes can be a huge help if you can manage it. But very few hypnotists actually have good enough voice control to achieve this, and most don't even try.

Relaxation exercises have almost become trope by now. But the reason for that is they actually do work when done right. The trick is learning how to relax your audience enough to make them malleable without relaxing them into outright falling asleep.

Storytelling actually works. Using mental imagery to guide a person's thoughts however is risky since it depends on the audience and the hypnotist sharing the same thought patterns more or less. As an example of where this can trip you up is how the same thing (the back cargo area of a vehicle) is described as a "boot" or a "trunk" or a "bay" depending on who you ask and where they lived most of their life. Other things beside word usage that can mess up a session would be your sentence structure and how "familiar" you act to the listener. And that is just a brief list.

Repetition is common among hypnosis files simply because it makes use of the fact that the human brain works best at learning new things based on repetition. However, as an aspiring hypnotist you will need to learn the fine line between reinforcing your words, and "Enough already we get it! We heard you the first dozen times!" as one comment stated in review of a hypnotist's file.

You seem interested in binaural tracking so I will mention that next. Binaural messages has its place, but this should always be used as an augmenter not as the sole focal point of the track. To some extent all hypnosis is to some extent based on the acceptance of the listener, but binaural messages alone are not enough to make any actual impression on people different than playing the same thing "normally". You'll need an extra hook that allows the messages to set in.

I am going to end this by adding one more thing. Distraction techniques are risky but when done correctly can have a huge impact on your audience. Actually if done incorrectly as well but in an unwanted way of making the file fail completely. A hypnotist who understands how to create distractions for their audience that are 'just' right can go a long way in making otherwise mundane tracks become fan favorites.

Different anon here, not OP, with different projects. I'll be using a custom advanced TTS that's sitting on my to-do list, so my files will be both4all, probably with several voices "tag-teaming" the session.

>>55044 (checked)

> Using voice moderation to encourage heart rate, breathing, and hormonal changes

Can you explain how to do that?

> have good enough voice control

Unlike OP, I'll be building or modifying a TTS, so I'll certainly have the requisite control for the files, even if "I" physically don't. I just need to know how to use it.

> relax your audience enough to make them malleable without relaxing them into outright falling asleep

My research suggests the existence of some very deep "body asleep with mind active" trance states. These could be useful for conditioning and trance dreams, but you're right that they're totally useless if the hypnotized person is expected to move while in trance. Fortunately, conditioning and trance dreams are what I want to do, so there's no such thing as "too deep" for me.

> And that is just a brief list.

Can you elaborate with a more thorough list? I'd like to try to look for patterns in that, but you only gave a few things to watch out for.

> the human brain works best at learning new things based on repetition

Not "best" - repetition is the only way the human brain learns. At least 3 repetitions are required to memorize a piece of information. More than 7 repetitions within a session is pushing it, however. Learning something seen once is possible, but only by repeating it from short-term memory, and you can't depend on that if someone is entranced. Lack of such repetition is probably the root cause for the natural trance amnesias.

> binaural tracking

This is an interesting topic. Binaural beats can entrain certain brain states under certain conditions. I don't know which states and what conditions yet.

> binaural messages

These are not possible and you seem to be confusing binaural beats with subliminal messages.

Subliminal messages have been very controversial, with much smoke and little light. The "classic" subliminals do not actually work unless the audience expects them to work and knows they're there. Most types are all but guaranteed to be stripped out by an MP3 encoder. The "very quiet track" method falls into this category, and at least one hypnowhale was ridiculed quite thoroughly on /hypno/ for her "anti-piracy subliminal" that was at -120dB - so quiet as to be lost in the noise in a WAV file, forget about MP3! The "ultrasound" method fails similarly - that entire frequency band is simply gone by the time the file is played, although aliasing into the audible range may occur, but again will probably be stripped out during MP3 encoding.

Generally, any "subliminal message" that can't be extracted can be safely assumed to not exist - if a computer can't recover the message from a noise-free digital source, what makes you think the much less precise human brain can recover the message from analog form with extra random noise mixed in?

I don't know if this is the right place, since my intentions are not of sexual nature, but I have some questions.

If I have a person that wants to do some specific thing or task, or is rather inclined to doing it, but is to much of a coward (in general and regarding this task). Can I bring him to do this with hypnosis? If so how high is the chance of success when 100 of those people view such a hypnosis file?

Are there any good recources that you can reccomend to create effective hypnosis (books or essays)

Mine aren't either, but I'm here anyway.

Maybe. Depends on the task, what's holding him back, how much he actually wants to do it, etc. Can you be more specific? What is this task?
