I'll answer all of your possible questions about volafile. Strap yourself in because this will be a long response across multiple comment posts.
Volafile For Dummies (meant as a tongue in cheek joke at the popular book series, not trying to call you a dummy. Hope this thorough explanation helps.)
WHAT IS VOLAFILE:
Volafile is a popular free short term hosting service. It is set like a chat service in that each host is its own room. Each room then gets a link that only connects to that specific room.
VOLAFILE FILE HOSTING:
Files may be uploaded by anyone to that room (unless the room creator vetoes this) and can be of any type and size (up to something like 21 gb). Once a person finishes the upload, any person who is connected then, or connects in the future will see that link unless the file has been blacklisted (often happens with copyrighted hypnosis files for example).
The duration that files stay up can vary but generally is 120 hours from the instant the upload occurs. Anyone can re-up the same exact file at any time.
VOLAFILE ROOMS:
Vola link example: https://volafile.org/r/ExampleRoom
There are quite a few long use dedicated rooms to specific file sharing purposes such as tv shows and movies, anime, books, programs, hypnosis, various porn themes, etc. A bit of searching should find you the rooms if you are interested. But I will refrain from linking here since that risks the integrity and longevity of those rooms.
Generally though rooms are intended for short term usage so do not have a custom name / link. Thus you will see link names with random letters and numbers.
8CH VOLA LINKING PROTOCOLS:
When giving links for vola rooms 8ch members typically either simply give the roomid or a /r/roomid
REQUESTING FILES:
Most rooms not only allow uploading and downloading of files, but also accept requests for specific files or specific dimensions, lengths, etc. of files. This usually requires usage of a [REQUEST] or simply [REQ] tag, the name of the file, the year, any special size or other requirements, and when applicable a picture to illustrate the file you wanted. to do this you can either create a quick .txt file with the information and upload that, or a .jpg file of the image you wanted with a file name that reflects your request.
Example jpg name for a picture of a book cover: [REQ] Author Name - Book Title [Year] PDF
Example jpg name for a picture of a movie:
[REQ] Movie Name [Year] 1080p ENG
For the book example, in place of pdf put the format you prefer such as txt, doc, epub for a few quick examples.
For the movie example, in place of 1080p you would put the frame rate and thus the size you are interested in. 780p files generally are much smaller than 1080 and both are far smaller than other formats. The "ENG" part is just telling what language you prefer. English is the most common so you can leave it out generally, but for sure if you are requesting German, or Spanish, or Japanese, etc. then you will need to include this.
Finally, in relation to requesting hypnosis files you will want to include as much info as possible. This includes hypnotist name, subject content, file name or title if known, year produced if known, version you want, etc.
REQUESTING REUPPING NICETIES:
Once upon a time, most people on 8ch were very quick to re-up files for fellow community members if asked. But between abusive behavior by some members, attempts at shutting down the uploading by the original content creators, and auto-bans caused by uploading blacklisted files (along with how quickly a file can swap from being safe to blacklisted) means that you will rarely get a window bigger than a day or so in some cases, to at most a week in others of downloading files.
However, if you missed the window and a room seems empty or containing different files than you want now, all hope is not lost. A polite request might return a brief 2-5 day re-up of files that have avoided the blacklist. And in rare cases community members like myself might be willing to take the time and effort to repackage the file and upload the now laundered aka newly non-blacklisted files once again. Be aware however that if a file got blacklisted once, it likely will be swiftly returned to the blacklist despite the tricks used to make the file unique enough to fool the automatic blacklist coding so they do not generally last long - sometimes as short as mere hours. So, if you are planning a request for a file from a known hypnotist that engages in forcing blacklisting of their files be sure to constantly check for the responses before they can be suppressed again.
One quick example of a hypnotist that swiftly get files blacklisted is 54m4nth4 B4nd|3r, but that person is far from the only one aggressively attempting to snuff out the sharing of files.
