Has anyone ever had any sucess with conditioning / long lasting effects with hypno files made yourself, or that you understand completely how it works?

I've made a few and I have no problem trancing or anything while under, but I'm wondering whether knowing all of the intricacies within a file would hamper that or not; and thus whether I'd be able to test files myself or not.

Also, any tips on how to better edit audio files? I've mostly been inspired with what I saw on another thread in here, so as of now I'm:

Using audacity;

Noise removal, de-clicker, de-esser, low pass filter(7200;12)

Add two copies of the main track, one offset at 0.01s with a 4% higher pitch, both with echo(0.5;0.1) and reverb (75;25;75;50;100;100;2;-3;100) at ~20 lower decibels than the main track

Throwing in some L/R panning on some parts

Up to now I've only worked with TTS and it didn't need much work but for my most recent file I comissioned an independent net seiyuu so spacing all the lines properly and not having them clip was a fucking nightmare, I spent over 10 hours editting getting everything nice and smooth.

What's the best to get rid of "clicks" from shitty edditing? Right now I'm mostly relying on "limiter" or just tinkering, making the problem part quieter and adding a ~18 decibel lower paulstretched higher pitched echoed reverbed track so the lack of echo from quieting doesn't ruin everything. It's a bit hacky and there's probably a better way, so if anybody could chime in that'd be great!

The main problem is that I might have normalised a bit too much so on shitty earphone it's quite "in your face" instead of having a neat soundstage.

Right now I'm waiting for the artist to finish the jacket so I'm not releasing the full file but here's a sample https://fantia.jp/posts/117376/download/155307

It's in jap tho so I doubt you'd care much for it, but any tips is welcome!

Pic kinda related, it's a shitty rescale of the jacket I used for my previous works

For all future projects, don't use audacity. Get ableton and you'll be able to have tiny little fades applied each time you make a cut, eliminating the problem of the clicks.

Your problem can be solved in a two-step process with something called a noise gate. Don't confuse it with noise removal- it's not the same and it's not even found in audacity. So you'll still need to install a ableton or something to do this. For this to work I'm assuming that the track you're working with is only a single voice talking with no effects or music or overlapping sounds that has silence in between sections. Something that looks like this:

||||||||||||| ||||||||||||||| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ||||||| ||||||||

If the track you're working with is already a full mix, then it's fucked and you shouldn't waste the time trying to fix it.

Import the problem track into ableton and load up a noise gate onto it. Here are some settings you can start off with:

Threshold: -100db (basically close as you can get to -infinity without actually touching -infinity)

Attack: 1-2 ms (This will create a fade-in for all the portions of your track that contain sound)

Release: 50 ms (not terribly important in your case but shouldn't go above 100 ms)

These settings will take your audio and effectively create fade-ins, making it look a little bit like this:

/|||||||||||| /|||||||||||||| /||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| /|||||| /|||||||

Render the track, and then reimport it back onto the same track with the same noise gate with the same settings

Reverse the audio. You should now have something that looks like this:

|||||||\ ||||||\ |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||\ ||||||||||||||\ ||||||||||||\

Render the track again. Another round of fade-ins will be created. At this point you're done using the noise gate.

/||||||\ /|||||\ /||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||\ /|||||||||||||\ /|||||||||||\

Reverse the track again to put it back into its proper orientation with all the fades applied. Final output looks like this

/|||||||||||\ /|||||||||||||\ /||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||\ /|||||\ /||||||\

There are probably other ways of doing this but this one is probably one of the more automatic methods out there. Fuck audacity. Use ableton or literally any other daw out there

Also which fucking button do I press to download your file? Screenshot it please

Hey thanks for the input!

By ableton did you mean "ableton live"? Because while it looks great the price is steep as fuck and I'm not sure I'd need more 5% of what it has to offers.

I'm not ready to dish out 600USD for that.

Yeah audacity is really basic (it has a noise gate plugin though, probably not as good) and automatisation would be greatly appreciated, but at least it runs natively in linux and shit. Would there be a FLOSS alternative perchance? Or anything that doesn't cost a limb, really.

There were a few clicks remaining after mixing and, well I got lazy and tinkered around them. I'll try smoothing them with crossfade before mixing next time.

Oh yeah I forgot it requires authentification for adult content, well here's a screenshot AND a vola link, since you guys seem to like vola. https://volafile.org/r/tfbkqq30

It still has 2~3 clicks but that's before the trance part so I didn't care that much; I'm more woried about end user experience at this point.

>I'm not ready to dish out 600USD for that.

Please use your head

Try Ardour if you want something free amd that runs on Linux

 No.54089

And yes, "ableton" refers to ableton live

 No.54100

You can make decent hypnos with Ardour? Or any free software for that matter. If that's possible I'm in

 No.54112

>>54052

Reaper does that and has winzip's free trial model.

 No.54118

MR ROBOTO can remove rhe clicks because I'm turning Japanese i really think so.

 No.54123

Well, I fiddled around with reaper, ardour and adobe audition. Frankly, ardour and reaper are so oriented towards music that they didn't really feel worth the trouble.

Adobe audition has a shitload of feature and looks like it might take time to get used to it but it looks worthwhile. Gotta try ableton next though.

Honestly, audacity is acceptable, but it does require a more hands-on approach, as opposed to an automated one. And geting used to all the fucking plug-ins.

If there's one thing I would change my mind for that would be easy as fuck, retard level, 5.1 panning.

>>54100

What do you even mean by "make"?

 No.54125

>>54123

What exactly did you have difficulty with that you say they're too music-focused? Ableton is also very music-focused, but I suggested it because a lot of beginners consider it to be intuitive and easy to use.

 No.54126

>>54125

What's intuitive for one is a nightmare for another. It's like Android vs iOS…

 No.54129

>>54125

The way different effects are arranged both in audacity and adobe audition is way simpler than going through them with reaper.

Navigating is also a pain, since the interface is arranged for song-making, this is especially true for ardour with the grids and shit by default.

It's simply impractical, and kinda bloated with knobs and shit everywhere.

If you end up not liking ableton either the only other program I can recommend is acoustica (premium edition). It's more similar to audacity in terms of appearance and workflow but it has better functionality and nicer sounding effects. It also supports vst plugins which is great.

(Install the free ReaPlugs VST FX plugin bundle from reaper. They're great https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/)

>>54084

Just listened to the file and I didn't hear notice any clicks in it, so any further de-clicking is just a result of you being needlessly obsessive. Sounds really nice and clean, good job man. Wish I could understand what that woman's saying though. Hot. Last thing- pic related is your file. You didn't "normalize a bit too much" at all. In fact the opposite. You need to make it louder

 No.54177

>>54136

Wow, thanks a bunch for the suggestions and review!

I'll give ableton and acoustica a try, and get familiarised with the VST plugins.

Acoustica definitely looks like something I can get myself behind.

As for the loudness, I have it set so it peaks at -9db, I thought that would be loud enough without being too loud, as I'm also concerned with people playing it on their phones through shitty earphones and such.

 No.54181

>>54177

Set the peak to -0.1

Don't worry about people's earbuds, they can adjust their volumes if needed. It's wasteful to not use the full headroom available to you

 No.54243

>>54029

i've been wondering the same thing

it's quite possible that self-created hypno will be MORE effective - you'll choose what works for you, and knowing on a conscious and subconscious level that the words you're hearing are YOURS might make them more authoritative

tempted to try making my own files (an extension of the B4mb1 series)

 No.54244

>>54243

>>54029

Can confirm

The only hypnosis that has worked on me has been self-hypnosis. I think too critically when listening to hypnotists, especially if they're trying to develop submission to them, in which case my mind is just like "pft get the fuck outa here". But when it's your own words and ideas there's no resistance, because logically, why would you resist your own ideas? Unless you purposefully include ideas that you don't want to have, in which case good luck m8.

A bonus of doing your own files is that you will get comfortable hearing the sound of your own voice.

>A bonus of doing your own files is that you will get comfortable hearing the sound of your own voice.

I seriously doubt it :D Usually, you are not familiar with your own voice, because you listen to it internally.

…and then you'll get used to it
