Depends on the tist. I think Dark Fr3y4 puts your user id in the id3 tags and it's probably best if you remove it. Even if you don't, it's unlikely anything is going to happen. Worst case scenario would probably lead to a site ban.

I've also read a disclaimer on a site I don't even remember that supposedly they insert non-audible data in the file that can trace back to the buyer. Depending on what kind of tech it uses it could cost too much to justify the result.

Realistically speaking, you'd need your store to automate the process which perhaps is not the most difficult thing in the world but it does require some expertise. And even you manage to do it's extremely unlikely anything will come out of it.

When was the last time you've heard of a pirate that had to pay for damages? How can they even prove you shared the file intentionally? Could be a friend of yours sat on your PC unsupervised for a moment, found your naughty mp3 collection and decided to try it out and share with it with his friends. Or maybe someone found the password to your store account and decided to share all your purchases.

If Holywood, Netflix, Kink.com and literally every company in existence haven't found a way to limit piracy on digital media, what are the chances a random tist has?

nope. as the other guy said, check the file. if youre on windows right click and go to properties. look for identification items in details. most likely there isnt any. if there is, just google how to remove it. once removed upload it to a random site like volafile or mega. bam. done. the only thing mega and vola can do is block accounts. if they block ip you can google which service provider and how to force a new ip. for verizon its a matter of disconnecting the router for about an hour so thr dhcp lease breaks. then when you reconnect it gives you a new ip.
