Try them out. There are experiments showing that flashing lights at certain frequencies produce brainwaves of the same frequencies in us. From my understanding, these frequencies range from Delta to Gamma, Gamma being the one used for increased awareness, delta used for deep dreamless sleep.
The one we should use, in my opinion should be Theta waves, which range from 5Hz to 7.5Hz, which stimulate visualization and REM during sleep, as well as dreams. Alpha waves are another possibility since they're used for relaxation. For improved results, it's be nice to simultaneously use isochronic or binaural beats at similar frequencies, since they have the same effect (they have to be exactly simultaneous to the flashing lights)
Now I've been trying it out and they seem to relax you, in 2 attempts i've fallen asleep twice, and woken up once the hypno files were over. It may not necessarily work because experiments use LED lights, and I've been using my computer's which may stimulate my brain more and make it more hyperactive (although that hasn't been my experience)
The way I do it is to simply put my laptop in my lap and put on a youtube video with these lights (sometimes you don't get the frequencies you need but you can simply change the video's speed)
Also it's important to lower your PC's brightness because it can be very overwhelming and unpleasant if they're too strong. Another strategy is increase the light in your room a little so that it doesn't contrast too much (like in pitch darkness) and doesn't tire your eyes.
You obviously have to close your eyes and direct the light towards them while you listen to the files normally.
Again I've only tried it twice so I'm not sure that it works but i'd be interested in some people here attempting it and seeing how it goes. Maybe it can really help in increaisng the effectivity of files.
Here's a link to one i've been using at which is 7.5Hz. I don't know if there's a software out there to make them for yourself, too lazy to check. Also make sure to right click on the youtube vid to play it in a loop.
