Hi, I'm a high-functioning autistic with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I've been listening to a hypnotist called Nimja, and I'm still having trouble getting into a deep, hyper-focused trance. Any helpful tips or advice you could give? Thanks in advance.

Yeah. I am also wondering even if I can trance I am deaf in one ear. If any anons read this please let us know!

From the sound of it you simply need to prep before surgery to pardon the analogy. As an ADHD your brain simply works at a different level of brain awareness than usual. To overcome this 'limiter' you need a flood immersion. One possible suggestion is to use the free file from the hypnotist V1V3 (Vi and Ve) called Deeply Fractionated. In that file he attempts to put down and pull up dozens of times faster and faster still to make listeners become more suggestible and easier to trance. For someone with ADHD you aren't likely to trance right away, however the constant and quicker repetitions may benefit you in that the different wavelengths may actually combine and thus confuse the brain. So using this file immediately before the file you actually want to trance to may work… it is just a hypothesis however currently unproven since even among ADHD brains there are as many differences as there are similarities.

Your case is different. In your case any files designed to be heard without headphones will work perfectly. Your issue will be the files which were designed to work on multiple levels with different messages coming in from different ears. Without that dual effect they will at the very least lose potency. However, even in those cases trance should be achievable as long as the hypnotist relies on other methods such as tonal changes or mental linkages rather than layered voices.

Hypnotists which should work for you are for example N1mj@ (Nim and ja) since he focuses on changing his voice to subtly match rhythm of your breathing and/or heartbeat and then changes his to force a subconscious change in those patterns for listeners.

All of the above being said however, exactly which ear are you deaf in and is it something that happened at midpoint in your life or from birth? The answers to those two questions can actually make a big difference in how your brain perceives and memorize sound it hears from the remaining ear. Even so I hate to ever say an absolute no since even in the most extreme of situations it is theoretically possible that your brain's malleability / shaping occurred in such a way that you can overcome the odds.

It's a birth defect. I was really wanting to get into the hypnosis stuff asap even if i needed to train my brain excessively hard to get myself there which would be totally fine. Thanks for the reply anon.

Good news, bad news situation but overall I believe it is good for what you want.

Since the hearing loss was a birth defect the part of the brain normally "saved" for hearing in the handicapped ear will never have been used for this purpose. As a result, your brain "probably" compensated by putting more focus on your remaining ear, and your alternate senses. But you also probably never formed deep connections between heard events and emotional responses.

First the bad news as far as hypnosis goes… since it is your left ear that is deaf, your right side brain never formed a connection to heard audio events. (Stimulus are believed to crossover to the opposite side of the brain than the body part they are connected to.)

This means that according to popular wisdom of psychology that while you may still feel emotional attachment to memories of a smell, a taste, a sight, a touch, etc. you are less likely to be able to respond and remember emotionally the sound of a voice. This is particularly bad for hypnosis since most hypnotists try to use their voices to setup a feeling of comradely, trust, and attachment when starting the hypnosis. You will simply take longer to accept what a voice is saying than if you did not have the handicap. Barring extreme good luck this is sadly the case for you. But don't think this is the end of your dreams of trance just yet…

Now for the good news. First because of your handicap in hearing, you are more likely to be highly susceptible to visual cues. This means that hypnosis tracks which include video should have a stronger effect on you. Furthermore, tools of the trade such as repetitive motion signals should grip your attention even deeper than they do for so called "normal" people. Do yourself a favor and visit the websites for N3v3rs1d3 L@bs (Never and side and Labs) and for N1mj@ (Nim and ja) and check the visuals both sites offer for free usage to see if you notice any effects at all while watching them. I suspect that the Lightbulb effect at NL and some of the contrasting color spirals offered by Nim will be particularly effective.

Ok beyond the good news regarding visual effects, the other good news to offset the bad news is that your hearing impairment started at birth which means that your entire life you have been subconsciously trained your remaining ear to hear more attentively. This means that you likely "save to memory" things that you hear more strongly than most people. However, these memories will likely have very little emotional response and instead will be more… calculative. What this means in terms of hypnosis is that you are more likely to catch the subtle cues hypnotists are trying to pass to their listeners, even if you may miss the bonds of trust they are trying to form.

In general all of this means that you should be focusing more on video hypnosis than audio, your audio hypnosis is more effective with repetition but "trust building" sessions and deepening sections in the starting section of trances are unlikely to be effective. However, your best bet for trance is a mix of visual aids such as NL's Filament (Lightbulb) with constant repetition audio such as V1V3's (Vi and Ve) D33ply Fr@ct10n@t3d (Dee and ply and Frac and Tion and ated).

Mind you all of what I have said here is just based on the best results that science and psychological testing has put together and your actual results may differ. But this is the "best guess" that I can give you.

>autistic

This generally means difficulty getting in sync with others. You would need to cut out all distractions and act as if the vocals are all that exist. A blindfold would probably be helpful.

>ADHD

Citicoline, maybe? That's kind of my cure-all, but whatever. It contains the nutrients that brain requires to make acetylcholine, the hormone of introspection. Someone deeply absorbed in reading a book tends to be experiencing a spike in acetylcholine. But you also experience the jolt of surprise the reader gets when someone taps on his shoulder; citicoline makes you less able to deal with surprises, because your brain keeps thinking that you are in quiet time.

It's not hypnotic, but it should slow you down quite a bit in terms of reactions and distractions. Mentally, you will be sharp, but very absorbed in one topic. Not advisable for busy days where you have to deal with people. In many ways it enhances your autism, but in a restful kind of way.

Having said the word restful, I should mention that you can't sleep on citicoline. You would just lie there looking at the inside of your eyelids, perfectly calm, maybe even physically tired, but unable to stop introspecting. So for most people, citicoline is morning thing, and for citicoline hypnosis, it would need to be a saturday or sunday morning.

>anxiety

Trance is the opposite of anxiety. It's the most relaxed you can get without falling asleep. Maybe try alcohol, since it's the most common form of anti-anxiety drug. Google "anxiolytics." I like taurine. I use it to take the edge off coffee.

>depression

If anything depression makes people more submissive and suggestible, so don't worry about it.

You would probably need to remix the files to mono if you wanted to hear all the layered vocals on an earphone in your good ear, or else listen to layered files on speakers if you have the privacy to do that.

Audacity can merge stereo to mono very easily.

I legit thought the op was just mocking me for a moment. I don't think that's a good sign.

remix to mono

you won't get any benefit from binaural beats, but they're a meme anyway

Hypnosis cannot cure nutrient deficiencies, which is a huge portion of your underlying problems. ADHD and depression are SYMPTOMS of a wide variety of causes that are unique to you. They are not "all in your head". Read these and the author will walk you through easy nutritional supplements that you can take yourself, why they work, before resorting to pharmaceuticals (which work, but only when the doctor understands WHY they work, and verifies the results). There are no scans available unfortunately. Eventually I'll get around to making some, but I won't have a scanner or time for a long while.

I found these after I realized that I was falling apart at the seams and my ability to even hold a job was being threatened. It was essentially my teenage dysthymia coming back with full force. Since my changes I have seen a dramatic improvement and have been stable for months.

You could possibly trick yourself into generating more dopamine with hypnosis, but the underlying problem would not have been fixed and could very well cause problems down the line.

To reiterate, READ THESE BOOKS.

you might have mild aphantasia(a recently disocovered condition that 2% of the population suffer from o) I wrote a post about it here:https://www.reddit.com/r/hypnosis/comments/7hdk11/i_thought_i_was_an_analytical_subject_turns_that/

damn. seems i have some form of aphantasia, no wonder hypnosis never works…. lol

when i close my eyes, i cant see anything. i cant imagine. i can think of details. like oh this chicks boobs what if they were bigger but i dont see anything. a few times i may have gotten a blurry picture, but what if i only pretended to see a picture. because after reading some articles on aphantasia and people who can visualize, i think to myself "wtf" because how they describe it is amazing. there was also an article about jerking off to images in your head, ive never been able to do that, i always need a person in front of me to look at, or porn…..

oddly enough, i lucid dream every night in detail people would be jealous of. my dreams are like living, except all feeling and emotions have the "volume turned up" so-to-speak. real life in comparison feels bland and boring. but in my dreams, everything is elevated like its the real world and this is the dream….

craziness

Can you summarize what I need to know about nutrients? Like which ones are huge for ADHD and Depression?
