How useful is Hydrus for sorting music? I don't want to have to go back and forth between multiple file managers

Yeah it can't play audio so unless you want to constantly be using "open externally" I'd use something else

Well that could be a new feature, but then you will need to do some research on audio fingerprinting to find similar music pieces, album tagging and other stuff.

A good example will be https://github.com/acoustid with a whole library. Their job is to literally categorize music.

https://github.com/worldveil/dejavu is written in Python and is very popular. https://github.com/beetbox/pyacoustid and https://github.com/itspoma/audio-fingerprint-identifying-python too.

https://github.com/AddictedCS/soundfingerprinting is in C# and https://github.com/hsyecheng/Audio-Fingerprinting is in Java, so IDK if it is appropriate.

https://github.com/JiahuiYu/audio_recognition is written in C++, which could be a good thing. https://github.com/perivar/FindSimilar is a mixed bag

https://github.com/parshap/node-fpcalc is written in JS

It should auto-call ffmpeg, or at the very least use cmus or mpv as a dependency
