Any plans on a release with the netcode removed entirely, not just disabled by a checkbox?

I just want a local booru so I can easily tag and search my image library, instead of using filenames as makeshift tags.

Would be easier to use TinyWall to block Hydrus.

Having a separate release with netcode removed every update seems a bit extreme.

By default, the hydrus client doesn't communicate anywhere until you tell it to. The default is as a local-only booru application. Perhaps I am misunderstanding your post which checkbox?, but unless you add some repositories for the client to sync with, I don't think any of the hydrus netcode will run.
