Current big job: finishing off duplicate search/filtering workflow

Would love an option to help prevent accidental attempted tag removals, as I often use local tags like favorite:potential, and find myself clearing them unintentionally.

Ideally, this would be a persistent in-dialog toggle for switching tag entry behavior, even if it's just a simple 'allow deletions" checkbox.

I've done this myself more than once! I'll add an option, thanks for the suggestion.

btw: For doing subfiltering with only a handful of states (like favourite: no/potential/yes), I've found custom ratings are helpful. You can click them on/off straight from the media viewer, which makes it just that bit easier than typing.

Neat. I'd managed to completely miss that feature. Maybe I'm just blind, but is there any way to bind a set of tags to specific rating levels? (eg: restriction:safe<->0, restriction:suggestive<->1, etc)

Not right now. I'd like to have ratings actions in the next overhaul of the downloader engine, so people will be able to set ratings based on parsing 'questionable' and so on. It'll be easier to set up synchronous ratings and tags at that point.

For now, you'll have to do it manually by searching for the tag/rating and applying to a select-all of the results.

Note that you can search for rating using system:rating, so you may not need the tags if that's what you are looking for.

I look forward to it.

Searching by rating wouldn't be sufficient in this case, since it's more a desire to have cleaner feedback on automatic tagging. Each restriction level implies all lesser restriction levels (making it possible to search ranges), and they are themselves implied by specific parent tags, so that the relatively subjective restriction levels are still derived from objective descriptors, and they at least stay consistent. :P
