From my one playthrough of it, there is sex but it's character route only if I remember. The base of the game has you learning spells but you do so by rolling dice per turn and then spend the collected points learning them. What spells you learn and who you talk to determines what path you get onto.

I don't know about the two pupils (I have played only 1/3 of the game), but if you complete some side quests you unlock sex scenes with the related characters. For instance I had sex twice with the architect (the one with the glasses) and once with the kemonomimi maid.

WINE user here (Wine devel v.4.12.1, XP compatibility mode).
I tested the game with different prefixes:
- when launching the game, "LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8" is needed to properly display the text
- no DirectX libraries, no sound, I guess
- I selected DirectX 9 instead of 11 to get rid of a screen flickering issue. I used Config.exe but you may alternatively open Game.ini and set Old_DirectX_Use=1
