I'm a complete fucking retard and lazy as hell when it comes to stuff dealing with code. I want to make a game with a hubworld and I'd prefer to mainly focus on the art and writing and not worry about code. How can I open up the renpy scripts from other games and just edit them? When I open them with renpy it doesn't allow me to access the code.

It's always best to do stuff you like. Right now I'm writing and coding, but I don't enjoy the writing so much. Though if you prefer to pay instead, I'll do that too. I work a lot with renpy so you only have to say what you want and I'll code it. I work neat too, so you can pick up from what I made.

Renpy's language will represent 10% of his total effort (if he decides to make a Visual Novel with some player choices). If his laziness prevents him from learning this, then probably he will not be able to write the plot of the game, which is much more difficult.

Renpy has two example games, the tutorial and another silly game. They may be useful.
And do not opt for engines that do not need code like RPG Maker and Tyrannobuilder. Although they seem better in the short term because they will allow you to produce the game without knowing how to program, in the long run you will lose the the enormous advantage and practicality of learning a language.
Only use these engines if your game requires something they natively accept. For example, battles in RPG Maker. Or the use Live2D assets on Tyranobuilder.
