I've had making a yu-gi-oh themed porn game on my desktop for like 2 years now but I have no idea how the GBA games or the DS games did the card ai

Like pic related is one of my absolute favorite games but trying to crack it to see the game files is absolute nonsense

I researched it a while back but Konami keeps that shit under lock and apparently just builds off of their initial creation to the point where their A.i. can identify 9000+ cards

I know the way they dude ygopro ai is that its always cheating, it knows every card in your hand and deck before you start, and I think some of the older games do that as well but fuck if I know

Making an AI for a complex cardgame would be tough, really tough if you want them to be not-shit.

I mean I'd be willing to do some code and writing if this idea gets an artist (since the artfag above is just an Idea Guy apparently) but AI is something a coder would spend years on even if it gets limited to just GX cards and no new lewd cards.

Cheating by looking at the player's hand is actually a performance booster and simplification from a coder's perspective. Four wildcards must compute through every single permutation of the database while four concrete cards has much less prediction to go through. A possible middleground, predicting what is in the opponent's hand, is more steps meaning more time coding.

For example you would need to create a Possible Card object for example, adding a new object when a card is added to the hand which includes each possible card in the database except those that don't fit, like adding Trap Hole to your hand when adding any Monster with 1400 or less ATK, then you'd need to add second-tier removal, if someone plays a card face-down and it gets flipped as Trap Hole, but Trap Hole is only in one possibility space for the hand, then that entire space needs to be deleted. But if Trap Hole could be in both then…And so on and so forth. Complex. It can be handled with enough documentation in the Cards class and //very carefully// adding new cards after the original AI is developed though so a Sequel would be developed faster.

So yeah, if this is going to be a proper idea and not tossed into the ring I'd be up for it, but AI will be a Bitch for a cardgame.

"Original Guy" here, I wouldn't mind working on the art for the game, the problem is that I don't have much experience with illustration (I just started using Illustrator a few weeks ago, and I stopped drawing years ago), so I don't know how much I can actually do, I can make the character models, that's not a problem, but I don't know if I can properly draw a actual scene.

here is an advice: don't!

instead of wasting resources trying to make a very hard and frustrating AI for the game, what you can do is justify AI's weaknesses with story (ex. the girls are under drugs or are total noobies or they have other clothing or conditions that make the game harder for them), this not only gives a better approach to the general game, this also makes the overall game easier and faster not only to make, but also to enjoy, as a erogame player you dont need to replicate the original based game to get the feeling, you need the rewards after "some" effort is applied, not after defeating a chessmaster all-seeing AI on the game after who knows what hours

this "making the AI hard' thing reminds me of those strip poker games where the chance of getting something out of it only happens after the computer stops cheating and let you win (or like holiday island where there is a variable telling you who will win, no matter the results of the actual poker game)

Why not just reverse engineering the AI logic behind Legacy of the Duelist? As far as I'm aware, most if not all characters have different AI's to fit their decks, or maybe they just use an specific set of rules.

The main point of reverse-engineering games is to remove the copy protection of most games which is what Skidrow and other piraters do

Konami games are particularly hard in the modern era since they usually all use Denuvo

If you want to reverse engineer a Yugioh game you have to go to their old back log of games

Than it takes special software tools, an in-circuit emulator if you have one, experience recognizing and circumventing software protection, and in-depth experience reading and hacking machine code.

Modding a game is easy, relative to making a proper AI at least.

You are basically suggesting we take Legacy, analyze it down to the cellular level, take out the heart, the liver, the kidneys and the left lung and then create a cyber-waifu around what is left. Oh and then I need to convert the cyber-waifu into a goddamn Martian because the code is in a different engine in a different programming language. That's even assuming magically Legacy had all of it's DRM removed.

It is totally possible, but Fuuuck doing that unless I have 3 years and a full time competitive salary. I don't have the time or energy to do that for free.

It would actually likely be easier to just make a new AI than copying Legacy. We wouldn't need to convert from whatever-the-fuck legacy runs on into Python at least.

Not quite. I understand that reverse engineering the game is hard, but depending on how it works, it can be applied to the game. If it works as I think it does, every AI duelist in Legacy of the Duelist have a different behavior. So you can just try to mimic different patterns for AI depending in the kind of deck they have.

You are right though, so you might as well just mod Legacy by adding it stuff like an adventure mode, if possible.

These are still first draft, so things are subject to change.

We are planning on a game where the main character is a freshman at Duel Academy who gains access to a Macguffin Device, a Ring with a pink gemstone that grants the user the ability to call a Shadow Game and special rewards for winning. aka you mindbreak whores by defeating them in a Duel.

The time period set is intentionally vague. The beginning of the game is set during the Zero Reverse of the 5ds era (ie the massive explosion that nukes Domino about 17 years prior to episode1 of 5ds) except this time instead of nuking the city it fucks up Time creating all the little inconsistencies and game mechanics like the endlessly repeating week common in games like this. Dealing with the time fuckery will be a part of the plot.

Anyway the first section of the game will include 3 girls to mindbreak and corrupt, as well as one tutorial girl that is partially corrupted.

Alexis is the tutorial, she duels the player after he finds the yet-unnamed Ring and you fuck with her mind a little, mostly making her forget the event entirely.

The 3 girls are going to be the named female Slifer students (there will also be generic female Slifers for later game mechanics). They are going to be Tea Gardner, Rebecca Hawkins and Blair Flannigan.

I'd post a picture, but we are currently doing a group picture which isn't fully finalized. When it is complete we will likely start a new thread for the project.

There will be lewd cards in the game eventually. Likely not in the initial proof of concept builds but they will eventually exist. They will be gained primarily (though maybe not only) via a Playtesting Facility set up by Pegasus and run by Chumley.

You acquire these by corrupting the island as a whole (to create a corrupt sexual nature in the dueling energy and spirit world) and by bribing Chumley with mindbroken whores.

NOT the named characters, generic sprites that are designed to have limited interaction. The most these girls would get is recycling the sprite for side-quests.

There will be a day system, set on a weekly loop. Some special events might only occur on Mondays for example.

Currently days are split into 4 times, Morning, Midday, Afternoon and Night. With Night being after curfew so you might get caught.
