Draw friend here. I saw people talking about /girltalk/'s lack of a board mascot in the meta sticky, so I thought I'd go ahead and make a thread for it.
ITT we discuss ideas for a character that encompass the ideals /girltalk/ stands for. I will sketch out the ideas we come up with, and make a final version once we reach a consensus.
BO was saying we should make our mascot an old man, since other boards typically have a young girl, and we'd be doing the polar opposite to be funny.
I think if we're going the 'equal but opposite' route, we should make our character some kind of cute bishounen guy.
But then again, I don't think a male mascot really captures the soul of /girltalk/. It's kind of a funny idea to make it an ironically male character, but I think we'd be better off with a female girltalk-tan.

2. She's a much simpler design than the other two, which means a smaller chance of fucking it up.

The dynamic I thought with them would be the following: Board-pa is the protector of the board, showing how you should act here. Meanwhile, Snelly the Snailgirl represents the clueless 8chan poster who makes tons of mistakes and/or trolls while in here.
