YCH really underscores how symbolic furry characters are now that I think about it.
I mean imagine I saw a YCH and just went "yeah, put a Wallaby in there. I want rocko out of rocko's modern life", literally the only signifier (other than drawing a doggoroo, probably with a pouch) it was rocko would be the shirt. You'd lose nearly all of the actual character design in favour of one symbol and one colour palette. It really shows furries don't care for the detail, it's just a set of symbols and icons that can be swapped around, rather than a coherent character design where you can say "No, that's not rocko, rocko's not that tall." I might even go further and say it's basically just a stamp, a marker to tie it to yourself rather than a real living breathing character.

Often a fursona is a description rather than a design. Usually very simple, too. Fox with glasses. Wolf with a scarf. Arctic fox in a dress. Dog with tribal markings. Cat on a hot tin roof. Or the ever-popular "just an ordinary canine but his eyes, tongue, pawpads, and genitals are my favorite color: neon [whatever]".
I feel a lot of this is leftover from when furry was primarily a typefucking medium, because artists were mostly shit and digital art did not yet exist. Owning physical drawings of your fursona was both monetarily and physically out of reach for almost everyone: the internet in only the last 15-20 years has enabled this to happen at all. So because of this, a fursona had to be something easily described but still "unique". If your character had an actual design and it took several paragraph to describe his fur markings and body shape (something I actually attempted to do recently, with mixed results) well... your RP partner has already left.
But the other issue is that most fursonas are mere representative of humans rather than actual characters. And humans, aside from things like race, gender, height/weight, hair color are essentially completely indistinguishable. Go ahead: try to concisely and exactly describe the difference between Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson. You really can't. Oh sure, you can picture them in your mind and they're very different, but in description they're both brown-haired white men with an average build. By furry analogy, they're both skinny male red foxes. So in order to distinguish themselves, humans must accessorize. Hence, the same happens with their fursona. Because of this, a person who goes around with a gold chain necklace and a Bob Marley t-shirt becomes a fox that wears and gold chain necklace and a Bob Marley t-shirt. Sure, it's a garbage fursona, but you can't deny that it DOES represent that person, in simple description.
For most people, that's all that matters.

But with both gayshit and cartoony, that really narrows things down.
One I'm hesitant on recommending is RockyTheProcy since I've had little dealings with them, but if you're into more fatfur content they excel at that.
Second and a personal-fav recommendation would be BlueBloodRed. He's got fair prices, has an exaggerated style, open to a wide assortment of fetishes, and is usually awesome to talk to and easy to get along with.
Third recommendation is another high personal recommendation is Skianous. Now he's not usually open for commissions but if you ask politely he'll most likely take you on. If not, don't pester him and just keep a watch on him. Otherwise, he's a blast to work with and has great attention to detail with various styles.
Last for this batch would be Dragonkingi. He's not exactly cartoony but he's high-tier on the gayshit. Downside he's got a bit of a price curve that's a little on the high-side. I personally love him and pay the premium because I like how he draws nipples and junks.
But those are my first choices on this batch

I unwatch artists if they aren't uploading content that I regularly find worthy of adding to my favorites. I never got the mentality of watching someone and then never faving, clearly they aren't that interesting to you if you can't be bothered.
