Well as an artist(non posting) I get why other artists leave. I come here for the art and porn, most threads r just a bunch of nobodies bitching about every little pic u give them to get off to. Some constructive criticism is cool and all, and by all means have an opinion, but at a point it’s just tiresome harassment from assholes who can’t even draw.

Very few people pay for furry drawings to admire your artistic vision and acknowledge the time and effort you put in. They pay you just because your pictures had a style that is sexually attractive to them. Anyone who draws is technically an artist. Anyone who draws well is definitely an artist. They may not be showing in famous galleries, but that doesn't make them less of an artist. Getting a fat head about one's own art, though, is still not a good thing.

If any would-be commissioner treats a furry artist like shit, they should dump that guy's commissions permanently. A bit of politeness is always good. If someone is paying another fur to draw for them, that says "I enjoy what you draw." If you enjoy what they draw, and they're nice to you, be nice to them. If the artist isn't nice to you regarding commissions, don't commission them (and tell others).

Most “professional art” careers, including music and screen acting, pay jack shit. Your friend probably could make a lot of money playing the violin if he was doing that instead of concentrating on his “day job.” And there are literally millions of paying writing gigs for people who can write three grammatically intact sentences. Look in any newspaper any time and you’ll see how desperate the world is for literate people, let alone Pulitzer winning journalists. Or maybe you have something better to do with your time.
