The NSA measures the time needed to perform known cryptographic operations in order to determine parts of the algorithm.

In the case of a Raccoon attack, the target is the Diffie-Hellman key exchange process, with the aim being to recover several bytes of information.

In the end, this helps the NSA to construct a set of equations and use a solver for the Hidden Number Problem (HNP) to compute the original premaster secret established between the client and the server.

the racoon technique is only one of thousands of vulnerabilities exploited by the NSA, and there's arguably NOTHING that you can do to prevent them from funneling and monitoring you, defeating every single effort you take to evade them

This morning Jon called me and he has decided to move us into his 2nd house north of Atlanta for a couple months. He says we should wait to move to Portland until the fires are over and the dust settles…

I have to call UHaul tomorrow and change the itinerary with the truck. Jon is going to rent the truck to Portland in a couple months.

Wendy and I both agree with Jon that this is a wiser plan, plus Atlanta is AMAZING, so we will have an opportunity to enjoy the benefits there (wendy wants to check out the Botanical Center and the Aquarium, and Atlanta has some of the best restaurants on earth)

So, since i can only 'visit' my mom on Zoom or FaceTime, we are getting our deposit back from the landlord Tuesday and headed North…

honestly, the world has become so crazy and unpredictable, that we feel safer staying in Atlanta for a while, maybe even until january… We'll see
