When I was getting into position to do dumbell presses, I felt a very hard pop in a tendon in my forearm and my forearm felt kinda tingly but I was able to finish my sets. However I called it a day just to be safe after that.

Is there any possibility that I could have actually snapped a tendon without pain? Or is it most likely just a random quirk of the body? I wasn't getting into position properly but the weight wasn't that heavy by the time it happened.

At a minimum, you should test all possible articulations of nearby joints without weight to see if there is pain, dysfunctional movement, lack of stability, or lack of fluidity. Also look for swelling.

https://exrx.net/Articulations/Elbow Since, you were getting into position, could it have been the brachioradialis?

(Understand that muscles and tendons associated with the hand and upper arm connect to the forearm.)

You can have as little as an empty barbel and still twist something wrong if you're unlucky. Happened to me once with my lumbar when sitting up from the bench. Like Canada said, test your range of motion in the arms and shoulders to see if there's any pain.

I sometimes, very rarely, twist something or stretch something wrong in my forearm and get a quick "pang" from the tendons at my wrist. Nothing comes from it.

I think if you actually snapped something you would definitely not be able to finish your sets.

This is the problem with lifting heavy weights. With a little bit of reading, youll find that almost all nature weight/muscle gain can be accomplished with calisthenics or bodyweight exercises.

The benefits are that your joints get much stronger and you get balance and blood flows to your muscles better

Normal. I have strong tendons and they pop all the fuckin' time. As a rule of thumb, big pops are better than many small pops.

>tfw many small pops in shoulder across the day

It had probably been impinged already anyways, so it is what it is

This happens to me all the time in my wrists. The tendon wants to move a bit laterally but gets hung up on something. Finally, the tension causes it to pop over the obstruction. You will be fine.
