yes, starting strength is complete bullshit, it makes you look like a bullfrog or T rex. go on bodybuilding.com and pick literally any beginner routine, you'll be much more pleased with the results than what you would get from SS. SS will make you STRONGER- it is starting STRENGTH, that's the point. but who cares about strength? are you a bloatmaxx powerlifter? probably not. you probably just want to be healthy and fit, feel good, and above all, look good and attract qt thots with big tiddies. canned bodybuilding routines will do that, starting strength will not. nobody is going to be impressed that you can squat x weight or that you need to buy new pants because your ass got so big. there is no practical need for being stronger than what traditional bodybuilding routines will get you- and if practical fitness is your goal, then you should probably do more running than lifting.

I regret doing SS

From my experience, SS while on a cut can be pretty nice.

If you deem yourself strong enough as is, don't bother with it. It is only for building a foundation of strength, hence the name.

Alternate between heavy and light lifts instead.

with your wimpy SS arms that only get a workout from racking plates and preventing a bar from rolling off your back? doubtful.

what if my goal is just to grow stronger? is it okay then? (not a powerlifter though)

adf879  No.142933

Body building is good for looking like you're strong. Which is good for getting laid but ultimately not the kind of power I'm interested in.

Being able to use your own momentum to launch yourself into the air requires you to have the lowest weight to power ratio possible. The whole point of Body building is to inflate the shape of the muscle. This doesn't increase power, as muscle density is more important for that.

Abs are made in the kitchen. We all have them. They support our spine and ribcage. Its not even that hard to reach <10% bf. You just fast or dry fast where you can fit it in.

I dunno, i just think if you're going to put in hella work you might as well get real tangible benefits from it.

The range of motion in most weight lifting exercises is incredibly niche.

It used to be good, nearly a decade ago when fitness was different but its not a good beginner program unless your actually going into strength training and your legs are twigs. Many programs are based off of it and it has its perks but its not a good program for bringing up your whole body, there are so many other good ones to use that got overlooked because half fit pounded SS hard.

>what if my goal is just to grow stronger? is it okay then? (not a powerlifter though)

yes, that's what it's for. beginner-oriented strength training. it will keep you busy for quite awhile; once you plateau then you switch to something somewhat more complicated like texas method etc.

canned curlbro bodybuilding routines will make you strong enough. there is no practical need for being able to squat obscene amounts of weight

>cares more about appearances than utility

what utility? see above. when are you going to need more strength than what hypertrophy training will give you? if you regularly lift weights and aren't a retard about it, you'll be strong enough. if practical fitness is your priority, you should spend more time running, hiking, or doing martial arts than lifting weights.

>implying that fluff and pump isolation bullshit movements are superior to compound movements

they are for cosmetics, which are what most people want because that's what has the most significant positive effect on your life

>working out to impress others

because then they treat you differently. you get respect from men and lust from women, how could "muh strength" beat that?

>implying most women care about bulging muscle size anyway

not roids-tier, just having a nice athletic build with low BMI. SS just gives you huge thighs and ass with chicken arms and calves. it looks like complete shit and all your hard work gets hidden by your clothing

You sound just like some manlet I had the displeasure of working out with during high school

>sees Stacy approach chad

>chad has a Greek god physique

>”bro if she wasn’t such a whore then all the girls in the gym would be approaching me because they would know a real man can squat 300” were literally the words he said.

To this day I haven’t met anyone who was more desperate and a walking train wreck than that guy. Also your probably 5’5”
