Hey lads, I've been losing a lot of weight lately (about 50 pounds in the last 4 months) and I've been told that I'm going to have a lot of extra skin that won't go away. Is there anything I can do about it short of surgery? Do I just need to keep the weight off for a long time for my body to bounce back or what?

Mostly this. Gaining muscle will help fill some of the space too, but how much your skin recovers depends on the person. If you're one of the people with naturally loose skin you might need to get some chopped off as a last resort, but I'd stick with gains and skin care for now since the pic doesn't look too bad. If it doesn't improve at all in a year (give or take) see a skin doc before you go scheduling any sort of surgeries. Sometimes you can do other things to help it instead of just slicing up your abdomen.

I heard extended fasting can tighten skin, but it will fuck you up in other ways, so don't do that. Drink lots of water, eat some vitamins that will promote collagen production like vitamin C and omega 3. Stay away from stuff that will dehydrate the skin, like smoking and booze.

I heard some anecdotal stuff about dermatologists using some kind of EMF wand to stimulate skin regeneration, but it could be bullshit quackery sold to old ladies with turkey neck. Same goes for cryonic treatments, it might work, could be bullshit. Otherwise, it should recover over time, depending on your age and genetics. Some women can come back after having a kid no problem, others carry stretch marks for a while.

Gotu Kola can be used to tighten the skin, but it takes a while.

Fasting will do the trick if you've got the willpower.

Search up "fasting loose skin"

What's the most reliable way to obtain test? What pricing should I expect?
