It is a pretty good series, if you like action and martial arts with a competent plot.
First volumes are closely tied together. Third one is more of an epilogue that takes place few months or years after the first two volumes. Strode is an angry fugitive with his back against the wall in first two volumes, but things change in the third one. He is sort of a zen Kenshiro, who learned to transcend the drawbacks of the Hercules Method, and tries to stop the cycle of violence. It is much less pretentious than it sounds.
There is also some disconnect in the art department. Volume 3 came out few years after the first two, and it looks like artist read a lot of Grappler Baki in those years and it influenced his art style. Speaking of which, Grappler Baki might be a good manga and anime for this thread. Series is batshit crazy, and a lot of physiques are grotesque.
