Sometimes when I go running, after I finish something in my knees starts crackling. It doesn't hurt, but it's pretty annoying. Usually goes away after I get back home and rest for a while, but sometimes it pops up during the day with a slight pain. Should I worry about this? Is this some kind of injury, or are my legs just not yet conditioned to running? Also, the crackling happens either in the outer side of the knee or to the back. I usually run on the dirt next to a road, like in pic related.

Yeah, running always causes long term injuries and pain. Don't run and do activities compatible with the human body

you should really work up your running starting with maybe 5 miles a week and by 10 weeks you should do max 40. running is harsh and you probably just have shin splints which is extremely common for military people.

my suggestion is look into the best possible shoes with the correct shape and cushion according to your weight.

then practice on running tracks and avoid grass because of the holes.

heres a pdf and some shoe advice

this is the staple book for runners in all areas

water and milk are your friends

also, eat your food with a titanium spoon. it will make you tougher

You should be fine. Add a warm up, cool down, and stretch to your run routine and it might help.

Oh, and NEVER run on concrete sidewalks for a significant stretch of time unless you want to break down your joints and get tendonitis.

Yes! this!!!

a warm up and stretches will make you a great runner. and a cool down.

after you run for 30 minutes or whatever…then dont just stop, keep going with some other type of calisthenic until you are almost at %30 increased heart rate, then you can cool down fully but never jsut stop. you can cause an injury if you just stop running

>water and milk are your friends

good, because I love both

Also I don't think this is shin splints, I think I had them once and it was different. Thanks for the pdf and advice

>>138712

Sounds good, thanks. I only run on the dirt next to the road and sometimes on the road itself.

Also everything is fine today, I think I'll go again tomorrow and see what happens.
