it's bullshit,
Reason why it's bullshit: you can use weights and specific exercises to fix imbalances and strengthen specific muscles, in a way that chinups and running can't, and this is true not only for athletes but even for normal people.
That said it's true that we should do more chinups and sprints (also the guy in the pic seems to confuse pullups and chinups)

I had a couple of dreams calling for me to do more cardio. Muscle density isn't really a factor in strength, it's the nervous system that is worked on when you train for strength. The post reads like a dudebro trying to give advice.

Some guy claiming to come on here ANONYMOUSLY and say hes from ivy league (as if that is an accomplishment moreso than how rich and jewish u are)
And having better fitness advice than literally the entire nitrition community.
Running on your toes isn't fine it's stupid it's uncomfortable and you can't run very fast but you could just read a couple books such as Lore of running by Timothy noakes and he would tell you the same exact thing. Plus that wouldnt build calves the same as 5 sets twice weekly, especially since there are multuple ways to work the soleus and gastrocnemius just by using bodyweight.
Another error that people tend to simplify is to say that you just need to do push pull exercises which is also just another meme to use Buzz words to make money on YouTube videos. There are clearly six major goals and body weight workouts.
One arm handstand pushup
One arm pushup
One leg squat
Back handspring bridge
One arm pullup
Hanging leg raise or windshield wiper

This thread sucks, so I'm hijacking it.
So I'm in a really tight spot financially right now and barely have money for protons, much less a gym. I've lost a shitload of weight closing in on 100lbs lost, but I'm not out of landwhale mode yet. I've started rucking and doing bodyweight squats, but other than that, what are some good calisthenics for a fat fuck to start with?

I've gone from 400lbs to almost 300 lbs. I don't weigh in often, but I'm probably around 320, maybe a little more or a little less.

So you have little mobility? i'd keep losing weight until you can start doing regular calisthenics, you don't want to try doing bodyweight exercises wehn you weigh that much and can barely move.
Well continue with the squats, just be careful you don't snap something doing some silly exotic calisthenics.

There's also pushups, pullups, and bridges. For all of that, the beginner workouts to start building strength to accomplish full versions of that. I constantly see questions that calisthenics answers so I recommend this book if it can go to the sticky.

This covers a lot like routine planning and diets. A full read should mean web searches don't add anything new- there's just too many non-substantial articles written for super low attention span readers.

I'm fairly flexible. Even at my fattest I could squat ATG. The problem is that my bodyweight is still too much for a lot of bodyweight exercises. For instance I'm still a long way from a pushup or pullup. Possibly with a shitload of assistance.
>>145347
I don't think you read the whole thing. I'm 300 lbs. Pushups and pullups are still not even close to being feasible. I've also got a diet that works great for me.

Long walks. I'm sure I'd be destroyed after walking a few miles with 100lbs on my back. You really need to lose more weight before you can do any "normal" type of exercise. Make sure you have good sneakers so you don't destroy your knees more than they already are.
