I'm obese and so far doing good with a keto diet, and I want to incorporate some exercise. The problem is there are no pools available nearby, and walking long distances is difficult for me due to my bad knees. Is there an effective workout program that works all the major muscle groups evenly that I can do lying down on a mat or sitting? I'm starting with this little gadget:

You can try to do calisthenics: Push-ups, pull-ups, bodyweight squats, and dips are great exercises. Now if you are very overweight and can't do these exercises regularly don't worry you can modify them so you are able to do them.

For pull-ups using bands(the larger the easier) for doing push-ups you can put yourself on an incline by putting your hands on a bench or chair with your feet on the ground.

If you need to lose a very large amount of fat though I would fast. Fasting is simply the fastest and most effective way to lose fat there's already a thread here though so look there if you want to learn more about it. Basically just don't eat and drink at least 2L of water a day is what you want to do though.

I've heard the 2L water thing but don't really understand it. Is it more important for weight loss on dieting or keto or just weight loss in general?

The water is for replacement really a lot of the weight you lose in the first week is actually water. Water intake is generally good for health of course, dehydration is bad and makes you feel worse. Salt intake is also important for health. I had hypertension my entire childhood and teens, not because of too much salt like doctors told me I lived on a no salt diet for all those years hoping to fix it and eventually got medication for it which made my blood pressure super low at 108 over 58. Quite bad for trying to exercise.

About a year ago I learned low salt intake causes hypertension because it inhibits nitric oxide production which allows the blood vessels to widen. Now I take about 3g of salt per L of water Blood pressure is now 115 over 70 no medication needed. https://youtu.be/2vz_U8kxDlg this guy calls this the Snake diet and takes salt and potassium chloride with water he yells annoyingly in the video but the information is solid.

TL DR water is for replacing what you lose by living and take 2g of sodium per 1L of water.
