I'm 22, was very healthy and active my entire life up until I was 13 and began playing a lot of video games and shitposting - heavy sedentary lifestyle. Then, when I was 16 I had a girlfriend, so I got my cardio up (with lots of unprotected anal and vaginal sex of course) until she dumped me when I was 18.

I started regularly smoking since then until a few months before I turned 22.

I've been hauling ass like a motherfucking with a good diet and exercise since then making mad results and I can tell you jokers right now, normal lung function still hasn't happened, and it's been almost a year. I've had maybe a total of 6 cigars since then though, and the last one was on Thanksgiving. That shit is going to take much longer. high altitude exercise though probably does contribute to my lack of oxygen, but still

In China nowadays, and until a few decades in Western countries, people use/used to smoke and contemporary run marathons or play soccer without much thought.

Cigarettes harms is a lot over-estimated. Think about the Army too, they had cigs as part of their MRE until recently.
