having some trouble losing weight. I am 180 lb and want to lose like 15 pounds ideally, but would be satisfied with 170 i think if enough of it were muscle.

Basically I think the trick to losing weight is to learn how to live a little hungry. The problem (i suspect with others as well) is that when i get hungry I get headaches. If i sleep half a third of my life, I really would prefer half of the other 2/3 not to be completely miserable but that's what happens. Besides giving headaches, being hungry is constantly distracting and I can't afford to be distracted and in pain while at work (i work in healthcare and without really explaining what i do, there's a possibility someone could die if I make a mistake).

How do people cope with this? does this eventually go away? do the hunger pangs and headaches dissipate when leptin levels are finally corrected (wouldn't this take months?)

I realize this is a shitty thread, but this board seems a bit dead so does anyone have any input?

I am also looking to lose weight, is it possible to gain muscle and lose weight? Because weight loss means calorie deficit.

Muscular growth means I need more calories to rebuild my body.

OP here, i've been working out semi regularly as well and i have seen a lot of progress in my max weights on all the exercises i'm doing and not losing much weight. this is to be expected if you're sort of trying to do both at once. But i know i still need to lose fat because I'm not blind and can see the spare tire.

I think the 'cardio kills gains' people are overblowing things and that you can do both, but progress on weight lifting will be much much slower than if you were following a program like it should be followed.

Firstly, what you need is a recomp. 15 isn't a lot and you're not heavy. The weight loss will be slow but you'll probably look a lot better anyway. Look it up if you don't know what recomp is.

False. You don't need to be a little hungry even if that may be a possible effect. Try IF. Your body's adjustment to insulin levels will help you get used to it. The feeling of hunger shouldn't ever get to the point where you have headaches. I hate straight up calorie cutting because you're always gonna be hungry without your body going into burning mode. That's me anyway.

Count your damn macros son. Get enough protein and lift weights. Once again look up recomping. Beginners can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. You're just going to do both slower. Be sure to eat slightly below maintenance and keep the protein intake higher than what you're used to. Marco counters will help with that.

went from 183lb to 170lb(two week). ketosis + OMAD.

I only felt hunger 1 day and a half, then I got used to it.I also calculated the body fat percentage and yes, I mostly lost fat. I did lose lean mass, but that's because I haven't trained in a month for reasons.
