There are a number of very low calorie (10 calories per US cup) broth powder mixes out there.

They're inexpensive, low calorie, and I'd like to talk about them.

just order the bones online and make the stock yourself using a recipe, it's not hard

Gotta agree with >>131423. Buy some meat with bones that are good for making stock and look up how to make it. Put it on the fridge and use as needed afterwards.

If you want lowcal just watch what you put on the stock or skim some of the fat. Or just drink water.

I use the one in the picture to the left, according to an internet search that's what produced the broth in the starting image.

It's 10 cals/cup and hot water is all you need. I'm going to quote the website:

>XXX makes the perfect vegetable broth for soup, sauces and gravy. Also enhances the taste of natural dishes such as tofu, soy dishes and salad-dressings.

>Quick & Easy Preparing

I really enjoy this powder and I figure I pay about $0.11/serving.

I make turkey stock myself and I enjoy it but these various powders are a super-useful tool for my diet (and budget) and I want to get people's insights into other ones.

No shame in the stock game but powders have their place.

Here's the chicken broth that I like, I've calculated this one as $0.18/serving.

20 calories. I tried a very expensive 'bone broth' one and *really* disliked it.

I'm conflicted. I still enjoy bone stuff and will preach it though.

I want to grill some cow bone chunks from the mexican meat place so I can get my marrow on toast

Are you getting these from online? Can't say I've seen them even in my forays into hip food places.

I've seen some powdered soup mixes in grocery stores but there's often dry noodles included. I haven't seen the no-noodle ones in physical stores though, you're right - I get 'em online.

Vegetarian or not, it's a good vegetable broth mix. In the summertime I'll put in small pieces of my garden veggies.

I've had marrow twice - once on toast (homemade) and once in a 'whipped marrow' from a quality restaurant. The whipped marrow was better but that's not really surprising I suppose.

I tried to make vegetable broth once, but I couldn't figure out where to get vegetable bones.
