Gonna try to stay away from too many carbs, I want my beer today.

I want to eat the yam candy I made too (y'know for the kids).

Peel the sweet potatos.

Slice the sweet potatos into thick circles, 1/2in or so. Put aside.

Prepare the syrup by uh making syrup. Water and sugar equal parts, low temp.

This being fall, however, we put in your favorite fall spices. I went with anise seed, cinnamon, cardamom (is cardamom a fall spice?).

After the syrup is browned and NOT the consistency of honey (has to be less syrupy than that) take it off the heat.

Place the potatoes into a pan and drizzle the syrup evenly.

Put the lid onto the pan, then bring to quick boil.

Immediately after boiling starts, bring heat down to simmer. Cook until potatoes are soft (but not too soft, that'll just make mush).

Layer the potatoes onto a plate and pour syrup over them.

Serve warm, with cold ice cream if you don't mind losing your gainz.

Pro Twist: try finding some of them 'fancy' purple yams for extra color.

Aw shit I forgot, remember to remove the lid just before the potatoes are fully cooked (after 30/40 mins of simmer) so that water evaporates.

Otherwise, the syrup will be too watery from the water that the potatoes put onto the mixture.

I was mostly good about staying away from carbs, but I had one serving of stuffing and a little potato.

Otherwise it was turkey, ham, green beans, and some shrimp cocktail.

I'm considering this a cheat day for at least two months to come now.

Poultry growth hormones.

Why doesn't /fit/ eat the cheapest, dirtiest chemical chicken available?

I had a Baconator and a beer the day before Turkey Day which put me a little over 2k calories.

Then today I had some deep fried cornish game hen that I made, some stuffing, sweet potato casserole, a little turkey, a few rolls, some mac n' cheese, a slice of a pumpkin cake roll, two beers, a small glass of Mountain Dew, and a little green beans. And for breakfast I had two sausage egg and cheese McGriddles with a glass of milk, and a few sips of beer before using the bottle as a water base for two of the 4 hens I bought to roast in. I finished off dinner with a cigar.

Yeah, terrible, I know. But I've dropped 30lbs since the start of the season and I felt like spoiling myself with the money I earned for myself; two things I haven't gotten to do in a while.
