Yeah, the bad stuff, definitely.
I'd say just try to avoid sugar at all costs so that you can actually enjoy it from time to time with things like baked goods, ingredients for things like marinades or to sweeten a dull bowl of oats, actual energy drinks and sodas.
Gotta admit though, I've been slacking heavily on working out this week, and by indulging in good food and energy drinks myself. So just play it smart and see how your body responds to what you consume.
Like, for example, I sometimes drink coffee. And sometimes, if on a empty stomach, I actually drink a little to too much (more than 2 cups *and note, I'm at 220lbs~ and 6'2"**) then I start feeling anxious and nervous, as if I'm about to get in trouble. Same thing happens when I get high. The shit actually starts fucking with my standards for measuring mind and body function. BUT, energy drinks have never (maybe once or twice out of hundreds of times), and definitely never a soda or baked goods, ever made me feel this way, except for when I smoked pot and felt anxious as if I was about to get busted by cops at the break of midnight.
in fact, as I'm drinking this peace tea at 20g's of sugar total, it's leveling me out and I can feel my heartbeat slower
