Hey /fit/

So bulking season is almost here but I don't think that's what I want to do, my goal for the past 4 years since I was working out was to maintain a Bruce Lee inspired physique and I think I managed to do that well. Eating VERY clean too.

Problem is I have people telling me I'm quote on quote "skinny fat" or just "mirrin teenage abs". I don't think so.

My weight is 133 LBS

My height is 5'7

I squat 150 pounds

I bench 150 pounds

I mainly do calisthenics anyway, can do 70 pushups in a row, 50 squats, handstands, breakdancing, mainly going for functional strength.

Question is my fitizens, do you think what I'm doing is a waste? Should I just start bulking up for the winter and cut in the spring? How would I even do that? I never did something like that before.

Please rate and tell me what I really am, rate outta 10, out of skinny-fat, ripped, anything you got. I need help.

Thank you all

You've wasted 4 years doing nothing. If I were to take any random male out of the street and trained him for a single month I would expect him to be able to lift what you're currently lifting. You're weak, and Bruce Lee was weak. Strong people are harder to kill than weak people and are more useful in general. It's time to stop fucking around and starting lifting seriously. You got a developed chest, though.

Alright tell me what I gotta do. Just eat and lift? What if I don't have access to a lot of weights?

 No.127740

>>127739

Yeah, lifting big things and putting them down is a good way to make muscle. I suggest SS. If you don't want to lift with, or don't have access to, a barbell you could always do that bodyweight routine in the sticky. Never tried it so I don't know whether it actually works. 70% of looking great is about eating. Eat right and make sure you're getting your protein and that you're eating in excess.

 No.127744

You're just small, but you're ripped.

 No.127751

SO no bulk? Change in stuff? What do you recommend? I stay the same, keep doing what I'm doing?

 No.127752

At 5'7" you're limited at what you can do. If you bulk too much you'll look like a freak.

What do you want? Fuck what others think. Go for what you want.

I want to continue to do what I do, but I want to make sure I'm getting that bruce lee bod, as desperate as it may sound, I needca rating out of ten, everyone kept telling me i was no good, so let me know if I'm a 1 or a 9.

 No.127770

I have the Tao of Jeet Kune Do in my Kindle, and you don't know a thing about how Bruce Lee used to work out

>I mainly do calisthenics anyway,

>50 squats

Are you telling me you can only do 50 bw squats after training calisthenics for 4 years?

>>127738

>Bruce Lee was weak.

I don't think kicking multiple trained fighters asses counts as 'weak'

Bruce Lee lifted heavy weights. He wasn't huge because he did a shit ton of running and conditioning via his martial arts, and he didn't eat big to get big. Start lifting some weights without focusing much on eating extra while also doing the body weight exercises, and do a lot of cardio. It is said that Bruce Lee at that size was able to bench 315, that would be a good long term goal to set for yourself. I would suggest just 2 days a week of heavy weight training so you can focus on the other stuff.

 No.127787

>>127778

Cardio is for longevity. Cardio is for your health everything else is strength

 No.127788

>>127787

I disagree. In order to work out hot to throw a punch, Bruce goes into throwing itself, and says it is analogous to throwing a baseball or dart.

Running in itself will educate your cardio-respiratory system to be more edficient, while also making you self-aware of your body's capabilities for doing work (the so called work capacity) and will allow you to reason on how much work you can do without burn out, so it becomes the base for all other kinds of scheduling for all other kinds of training.

Cardio is for endurance aka not being gassed out after a few rounds.

On average people who do heavy cardio live shorter lives. Fatigue your heart with moderation, you only have one.

(I'm not saying not to do any cardio at all)

I squated and benched more in high school and my first day in a commercial gym a year later @ 150 lbs 5'10.

Your body weight reps are absolute shit. You're not even trying. Why the fuck can you do more push ups than squats? 200 push ups, 500 squats, 30 pull ups, 350 sit ups should be the standard like 1/2/3/4 is. You should add 10 lbs as well.

Do ultra-slow 1 minute reps with a 30 second concentric and 30 second eccentric. One day should be as relaxed as possible, the other should be maximal contraction. I've heard of a guy who ripped his door knob off (not his dong) accidentally from doing that type of training. It builds the neuromuscular connection. Add weight after you hit 5 reps (minutes) for an exercise. The russians are really into this sort of training.

Your arms don't like very defined, so either buy a sledge hammer/long weighted object and create a routine of ultra slow 'reps' for that as well or perform different gymnastic movements such as the planche, lever, L-sit, etc. and do a lot more bar work (pull ups, chin ups, p-bar dips, lever, etc).

>>127889

Yep, moving slowly is a good way to keep the muscle under tension while having less risks of injury. There are boby building protocols based on that.

If OP is a Bruce Lee fan he must know that immobility training is important in Chinese martial arts. Zhan Zuang is a well known exemple.

OP, you seem have low bodyfat, but you are not strong.

You should aim to squat 150 kg, not fucking lbs. How do you think you will stand up without strong legs? The Chinese Wushu Team require is member to squat at least two time their body weight.

 No.127899

>>127892

So why do you think immobility training is so important? I am inclined to agree but I haven't done enough training to really know or understand the subject well. Is it something to do with gathering your strength and vitality without the assistance of motion? Like how someone would shake or wiggle through a tough spot in a rep, or change plane of motion for the concentric vs eccentric; the isometric would force one's internal energy system to be much more direct, yes?

 No.127900

>>127899

When you listen to the Chinese it's important to reinforce tendons and stuff and to circulate Qi. I know for a fact that it hurt after a while so something must be working. It's also a great way to work your posture because imbalances like a pelvis tilt will hurt in zhan zhuang.

On some styles the postures are twisted or elongated and it feels kinda like yoga when you do them.

I prefer working slow motion than immobility personnaly. I've given up on Chinese martial art anyway. White people stuff is better for hand to hand combat.

 No.127906

>>127900

Why are esoterics shit for getting stuff done. Maybe it's because the good shit is esoteric… hidden like a motherfuck. I guess only the chinese stuff no one has ever heard of is good.

I have some Shaolin training texts that I've posted here and on /fringe/ that claims that you can put flames out at a distance, roll iron bars into spaghetti, crush stones between your finger tips, wave your hands and throw your opponent (a tiger in this instance) through the air, shit like that, after 10 years of training in that one thing at least an hour a day. I've practiced the 5 elements and know that at least it's somewhat legit. I prefer the methodical, more detailed approach as well, but the simplicity of eastern systems leads to enough openness that your intuition can spontaneously 'combust' and bring new insights… AFTER you've been through the rigors however. Otherwise any knowledge and insights are lost as there's no way to organize it into your will and thought.

Wow, what a surprise. Have you tried actually using a barbell, or even dumbbells? You might see some actual results that way. You don't even need to bulk - just do exercises that actually strain your muscles.

>5'7"

Are you twelve or younger?

YES

Don't worry about getting cut. Right now you are growing little brah. You need to eat as much as you can to not get fat. Try to avoid weights until you are 14 or 15 and have someone experienced help you out. Stick to calisthenics and cardio. Eat bug so you can get big. No one wants to be a Manley because of malnourishment. Keep it up and when you are 18 you will have made it.

NO

Give up. Nothing you do will ever matter. There is no hope for you. On the bright side your weak genes will never be passed on so your life and death is a net gain for humanity.

Relax fag I was talking purely about my experience with the Philipino dwaft, you're not small. Average human height is 5 foot 6 inches, you're one inch taller than half of all men in existence. You're only three inches under American average because American whites are mostly North Europeans, American blacks were bred for slave labor, and the most of the spics aren't counted because they're illegal. I'm six two and I've been outlifted by guys that are way shorter.
