Then what is a good beginner hypertrophy routine? I want big muscles to make girls like me easily. This triweekly squatting, tree truck leg bullshit is not doing what I want done to my build. I did PHUL for a while I made decent gains. I hated SS and SL too so I just ended up doing Greyskull LP. Because like it or hate it linear progression with a full body barbell compound program is the best for a novice natty lifter.

There's also Westside for Skinny Bastards, Candito's Linear Program, 5/3/1 for novices(I wouldn't recommend it though), the Out Alpha Novice Program by AlphaDestiny (which is a bit similar to SL and Greyskull LP)

There are many. You can do 3x3 too. For some reason it is not popular, but it helped me blast through my OHP plateau like crazy because low reps call for heavier weights. I like to do 3x3 whenever I stall, then after a few weeks drop the weight down a few notches as I go back to 5x5. Before too long I'll 5x5 what I used to 3x3.

3x3 also helps you keep some recovery left in the tank unless you go to failure every time.

You can make your own routine. Get in all the good compound lifts: squats, DL, bench, OHP, and you should be good. Once you've trained enough to fill out, your weak areas will become apparent and then you can design your program around those.

But the bottom line is that in general, 5x5 is proven to have the optimal effect for beginners all the way to advanced. Google 5x5 and find a program with a good reputation that you like and try that out.

Do whatever exercises you think are best (probably big compound movements) as often as you can while still getting enough rest time for your muscles to grow. Make sure you have good form for every movement you do. Look up the science of reps and sets to decide what results you want. Using this knowledge, you can build your routine, not some other person's.

Seriously OP, SS has pros and cons. It's good for beginners because it focuses on the big lifts that tend to take practice to do properly. It's bad in that it doesn't leave much room for assistance work if your work capacity is low if you're doing SS, it probably is and the lack of emphasis on pulling movements gives you muscle imbalances. There's no reason to ever do SS for more than 2-3 months.

If you can do the big lifts properly, then do something like 5-3-1 instead. Fewer, more intense sets of the main lift and more room for higher rep assistance work of your choosing are better for building a balanced physique. 5-3-1 also has a massive improvement over SS in that it has a deload week. You need to give your body down time or else you'll plateau too easily and be a weak faggot forever.
