>wake up

>have some coffee/internet time for a half hour or full hour

>drive to gym

>get a lift/some cardio in

>drive back to house to shower and get ready for work

>go to work

>completely fucking fried mentally

>frequently closing my eyes/coming close to falling asleep

>feels real fucking bad man

Should I just stop working out first thing and save it for after work? Either I'm tired as fuck or on edge all throughout the workday. Never happened when I saved fitness for after work.

This happen to anyone else?

 No.121500

Yeah I hate to admit it but I would feel great for about 30 minutes after my workout. Then the rest of the day, I'm more or less delirious. But I like morning workouts.

 No.121504

>>121500

>delirious

Perfect word. I just feel so fucking drained after that it's making it not worth it for me. Going back to saving fitness for after I'm done working.

 No.121537

Try going to sleep a couple hours earlier and not using any electronics after sunset, then eating an apple instead of drinking coffee and take a Scottish shower after your workout (hot and then cold) and drink your coffee post-workout instead. Do it for a few days and post back with results.

your cortisol levels are highest in the morning. lifting and cardio will just add to that, so it's kind of a shitty way to start your day.

You should quit your job and do what it takes to grow your biceps

>doing anything that feels bad in the morning

I bet you're one of those freaks who eat vegetables for breakfast, have cold showers after waking up and put up with women's bullshit while they're still dizzy.

What is wrong with you and where the fuck do your kind come from?

I was feeling lightheaded after my workout this morning. I had a small meal before and a whey shake after. About an hour later, I still felt like shit so I ate a cookie snack.

Weird head feel went away. I'm not sure if it necessarily helped recover brain function though.

i prefer first thing after work.

Fuck, adds up.

Going to transition to after work fitness masterrace mode from now om.

If you into gym be warned, after work is normie time at the gym. Cardio bunny grills and chads who are trying to sleep with said bunnies.

They hog the equipment but never atcually use it.

OP, stuff to check:

- Are you getting a full nights sleep before trying this? Just checking in case you're one of those prats that thinks they 'function fine' on less than 8h sleep, and yet here is mystified about why a morning workout is fucking them up.

- At what point in this whole thing are you eating?

- What are you eating when you do eat?

I'm shit at the morning exercise thing but if I get solid 8/9h sleep, haven't jerked off in a few days, and go immediately to the gym when I wake up (no food, no shower etc) then the rest of my day is great.

If I make it any more complicated than it absolutely has to be (I can go straight to work after, and there are good showers at work) then it sucks.

 No.121658

Or get earlier hours, so you beat everyone to the gym.

How expensive is it to create a home gym, and what space is ideal for its location? Garage? Outside?

>>121649

I don't do diet or meal planning, I just workout for a set time and that's it. If it means anything, I don't drink soda.

 No.123744

>>123734

garage is good. My setup is

Rogue Ohio Power Bar 45lb (Black Zinc Shaft w/ Bright Zinc Sleeves)

Proloc Collar Set

Rogue S-1 Squat Stand 2.0

——————————————-

$731 with shipping

a good bench will be ~$100

Next, you'll need to buy plates, which you can get for $0.60-$1.00 per lb. shipping will cost extra because they're heavy as fuck. Check on craigslist for Olympic plates and a rack to save money, but don't cheap out on a bar.

Total, you're looking at around $1500.

If you have the space, definitely get a full power rack. You can buy or make a cable system for a full rack that will allow you to do pulldowns and shit. If you have the time, a drill, and a few bits, you can build a rack from lumber, which will save you some money.

You'll want to get some plywood and a rubber horse stall mat to make a lifting platform that will make you more stable and protect your floor.

>a good bench will be ~$100

Depends what you're looking for. I got mine for $20 w/warranty but it only supports 180lbs.

>supports 180lbs

>weight bench

if you're a skelly who doesn't lift, that might be fine, but if you want to become thicc and stronk, that won't cut it

What's your blood pressure like? Been doing the same thing for 3 months and struggled but had some pains in the chest due to stress. Been taking 1/2 disprin a day which thins the blood.Makes gym a lot easier. Also remember that your testosterone levels don't kick in super early and if you haven't had a good night's sleep then you're fucked. I aim for 5 and half hours min. Sleep, less booze and blood pressure makes a load of difference. Also, buy a powerade and dillute is with water. Shit is rocket fuel. Eat breakfast as well, It makes a world of a difference. Anything meaty works well because you want iron in your blood when you go.

Christ, there are chairs that support more weight than that. Is this a bench with a stand, and the stand only supports 180?

I've just started saving workouts for after work only now except for days off where I can go whenever I want thanks to having jack shit to do.

Helps get the balance right.

 No.124598

OP, I can't stress enough that if you plan to go home gym, you need AT LEAST one set of rubber 45lb "bumper" plates. These will protect both your floor and your equipment when you inevitably drop the weight. Do not skimp on this.

Also you can layer those foam kids mats with a yoga mat for extra floor protection (especially during deadlifts) goal of the mats is to absorb initial impact so your equipment/floor doesn't crack or split.

 No.124599

Best strategy is to lift weights in the morning and do cardio after work.

 No.124698

I always workout after midnight when I am done work. I have to walk a hour or so home afterwards. My workouts are always intense and I feel energized and then I get a good night's sleep.

If I go in the afternoon or evening I feel lazy and unmotivated. And I can only do morning workouts if its my day off and I slept alot. And I feel like a zombie at the gym.

I find running then a nap best for mornings and lifting best at night
