Silver Valkyrie Slowly stands as Lily covers her and her armor starts to regenerate. She feels some of her extra strength returning and stares back at Crimson Axe.

Crimson Axe makes an agressive charge, but the tiny bird manages to divert her attention and make her miss before it vanishes.

Sugar Diva looks over the damage Crimson took, getting ready to start her song.

Passion Flower finds herself feeling up the samurai that got in her way, but the new target is too protected for any of her corruption to seep through. She starts regrowing the vines she shed onto the floor as she was preparing to violate the Valkyrie.

Looking forward, I think the regen problem is an easy fix, I just have to take away the ways the armor system makes points go to waste. That's the layer buffer, and the area targeting. Instead, parts get hit from most to least armor points assigned. I'm looking at changing that after the battle and letting you re-design outfits with that in mind.

I plan on making those fixes before having the boss battle. From there, We'll stop to take a look at choosing between the current system and a variant of the Cthulhu Dark rules. The trade off is that the other system is simpler, and more RP-driven, but RP-driven has it's own double-edge. If I'm more tired or less than inspired, it can fall flat, while the current system has fun strategy to it to fall back on.

Regen is prioritized over attacking, right? That makes Passion Flower a better target than Crimson Axe simply because she can actually be defeated in a reasonable number of actions. We only need to land 3 hits, but I don't like banking the final strike on an NPC that moves last. If we fuck up Sugar Siren will just heal her again and we'll be back to the turns ago. My action will either be spent attacking Flower (again {again}) or regenerating Silver Valkyrie.

Alternatively, one hit on Flower should set up a purification this turn, and unless Isabel the Demons-Layer gets dressed right now she WILL be turned (I think her corruption should read 7? If that's the case I'd like to request Hope Crusader Robin's action: Purify Isabel the Demons-Layer). Even if she does, her disadvantage sets her up to drop next turn.

Breaking the crystal sent a rush of power through Electric Idol's body, restoring her outfit completely but doing little about the damage to her mind. It looked like her allies all gained the benefit as well, except for the powerful Princess, gloves and crown still demolished. El paused for a second, watching her shatter the other warrior's armor with a single practiced blow.

She's beautiful.

The way she moved, dress held tight against her body, effortlessly dancing with her massive axe even without her prized vambraces as she tore through the darkness one reckless smash at a time. Never stopping, never yielding, and never giving up. For a moment, nothing else mattered.

Idol looks over just in time to see Lily make a move on the fallen knight. "O-oh. That's how you're… HEY!" Catching Passion Flower with her pants down, Idol decides to remove them entirely, almost jumping at the chance to strip the girl down again. "No more of that!"

"Yes, I'm doing fine!" Lily called out in response, loud enough to be heard over the sounds of swords, spears and axes clashing in combat. And he truly was doing fine, at that. What little damage had been done to his outfit in combat thus far had been fully healed when Idol made use of that energy crystal, and as a result, when Isabel and the Flower had both pressed in upon him, trying to overwhelm his guard and get past to the rapidly-recovering Silver Valkyrie, their corruption had been completely unable to penetrate the many layers of his outfit. A quick swing of the sword had sent them scattering back, and while Passion Flower tried to grow her outfit back on again in order to render herself less vulnerable, Isabel had been momentarily surprised, Crusader Robin coming up behind her and reaching around to grasp at both of her breasts, twisting the demons-layer's nipples somewhat harshly as she tried to force out much of the corruption.

Valkyrie had also done what she could to purify Isabel when trapped between her and the Flower earlier, and seeing that the demons-layer was distracted now, Lily saw an opportunity to do the same himself, a chance to redeem his earlier dishonor by helping to rescue the fallen magical girl that he had left behind.

Embedding his sword point-first into the ground for later retrieval, the samurai began undoing some of ties and clasps holding his magical girl uniform together, each piece disappearing into a swirl of pink sparkles as it came loose and he shrugged it off his body. Gauntlets, tabard, shirt, sandals and socks… Each piece of his outfit came off one by one as he walked up to the dark magical girl before him, and when he was left as naked as she was, he took action, reaching up with both hands, wrapping his arms around her neck and tilting her head downwards towards him.

Standing on the tips of his toes and tilting his own face upwards, the samurai's body pressed up close to that of the demonslayer as he gave her a chaste, but somewhat forceful kiss.

Wicked had her try to dress herself when telegraphing the enemy's actions, but if Wicked changes Flower's actual action based on Isabel's request, then I think it would only be fair to change your physical attack into a purifying attack, since she'd be completely defenseless otherwise.

Your roll did miss, though, so I could see that as a reason to rule that your purification attack wouldn't hit, either. We could probably have Robin, Valkyrie and Sparrow all join in on the purification and finish things this turn, though. Especially if we could get Splinter to protect Robin for a spirit connect.

I was going to let wicked decide if its fair to change her mind, but from my side, the adopted girls on your side get to respond to what you want - they also go last. Same problem with the initial corrupted girls, only from the other side. That's why i felt fair asking for a change - if you can go 'hey allies, please do this,' I should be able to claim the same, basically.

Her stat block in the last update lists her as 'undressed', and she did attempt to fornicate for her last move. I thought she was trying to heal herself as well, but I think it's probably just an unclear description. The only clothes she's got left right now are a set of vines that grow on her like fishnets, so that would be why it was described as her trying to regrow her vines.

I do think that letting you ask for a change or two probably wouldn't be unfair, though. There could be a potential problem of dark magical girls waiting to declare their action last and then requesting to change their side's entire turn, although I'm sure you wouldn't try anything like that, but it could probably be fixed by limiting it to requesting actions for one or two allies only, or something like that.

Also, bringing that up makes me think that we might want some means of determining initiative for PVP conflict in whatever ruleset we wind up using.

I kind of like the initiative VS information trade-off. If you move sooner, you get to deal damage first and thus if you do something like attack, you can damage your target's armor and reduce the effectiveness of their action because it comes later, or heal before you get attacked so you don't get defeated status from someone who moves after.

True, it is a good tradeoff for regular PVP. Considering that the GM is usually going to be coordinating the NPCs better than the PCs will be coordinating with each other, though, that will present problems when fighting NPC dark magical girls.

Hey everyone, sorry I missed the last few updates. It was a busy weekend and such.

Anyway, it's become apparent to me that I haven't been doing anything in terms of strategizing. I've really just been taking turns when I can because I wasn't sure when I'd be able to post again, but this has left me feeling very removed from the game.

So, if we're talking strategy, Comet has her protect-all action that I haven't been able to take yet. I imagine I'd be taking a lot of heat from all the pure girls, but her armor is relatively untouched at this point, and if the corrupt team needs some healing/dressing it could be an idea?

If not, there is always the option to just put pressure on a girl that needs it, which by my thought is either Splinter or Lily. I am notoriously bad at this kind of thing though.

welcome back, sweetie. I've been waiting the whole three threads to see you pull the trigger on that sweet, sweet taunt. Please, by all means, taunt the fuck out of(and into!) the whole other team. I can definitely use a turn to get my feet back under me.

The other team's starting to mix up corruption attacks into just physical ones, which is good for them and bad for us. If we want to be mean, the overall strategy is to deny the pure girls asses and assets with regeneration, while making them spend crystals, grinding targets of opportunity. If you're going to put pressure on someone, I'd say idol or Splinter. The more girls get groped, the easier cherry witch becomes but also more of a threat attacking, I'd still be inclined to leave her alone until after another girl or 2. I'd say valkyrie is still a tempting target, as she has low purity. The higher attacks we have, the more we can focus on fully stripping people and breaking their weapons.

personally, I tend to temper my targets based on who's in thread and see who's also the juiciest looking, while also playing a bit smart. I suspect that taunt to be toned down a bit after you use it the first time, so i'd fire it sooner, and both think about and ask who wants a taste of comet

…Yeah, I've been dreading that Taunt ability for quite a while now, I'll admit. And not in a way that's fun for me, either. The fact that Isabel is straight-up admitting that it's probably going to be nerfed after it's used is likely a good sign that it should be reexamined immediately.

That Taunt ability is pretty much the entire reason I voted on running away from the first fight with Crimson Axe and Sugar Siren, and is also the reason why I initially wanted to have Sunlight, Lily and Idol go into a three-on-one against Comet before moving up to meet with the rest of the group. It's a pretty blatantly powerful ability, especially since Protect is a priority move to begin with.

The major reason taunt is so good is because of the duration. I'll also note under the current definition of attack includes corruptive ones too. But… essentially, its a multi-target protect. I think I'll wait for Wicked's input on this before taking a turn, even I think the three turn length probably is a bit too strong. Personally, I'd be fine with it lasting one turn, after all that is denying an entire round of attacks, and we've seen how much recovery can be done in that time. Three turns sounds like a stupid long time, even if Comet's reduced to a quivering pulp afterward. I built Comet as a tank specifically for this reason anyway.

I'm probably overreacting a bit, admittedly. Comet using that Taunt ability would pretty much completely invalidate my turn, and I basically just spent the last several turns contributing nothing, feeling useless and not really enjoying the game much, only to finally start enjoying the game and actually being useful last turn. Now I'm looking at being rendered useless again and I'm really not looking forward to that possibility when I was finally starting to have fun.

Calming down a bit and trying to look at it more rationally, invalidating the turn for entire teams all at once is really the main problem that I have with the ability. In particular, if Comet really wanted to abuse the ability, (or if she simply wasn't able to make a post until the last day due to having a busy schedule,) she could wait until the last minute on a turn where every member of the opposition made attacks of some sort, be the last one to declare her action, and then pop Irresistible Taunt and direct all attacks to her, basically telling the entire enemy team 'screw whatever you wanted to do with your turn, you're doing what I want now'.

I don't think she'd actually do something like that, or at least not on purpose as I elaborated above, but it is still something that could happen accidentally and it isn't going to be particularly enjoyable when it happens.

Wicked made a post earlier about how the current way we're handling things has a nice balance to it because going earlier means that you're trading away Information in exchange for Opportunity. You don't know what your opponents will do, but your attack will go off before theirs does. This was brought up in the context of how he's currently been having the enemies telegraph their moves at the beginning of the turn but having their attacks resolve at the end of it, and how that's unbalanced in favor of the players because it gives them both Information and Opportunity over their opponents.

In the case of your Taunt ability, it also gives you both Information and Opportunity over your opponents, because the Protect move has priority over most other moves in this game. Rather than decreasing the duration, I think the key to properly balancing Irresistible Taunt would be to simply make it so that it doesn't have that same priority, but instead takes the same priority as normal attacks and things like that. So it would work on all your enemies, but any of them that declare before you do still get to have the advantage that comes with declaring early.

and that's the core of the reasons i said regen needed ALL those changes. A cooldown means you want 2, a tax on destroyed means its not sustainable, destroyed-this-turn means you actaully can have windows of gropetunity(2 girls 1 purifies), and having it go after attacks keeps the window open next turn

The smarter move is "proactive regeneration" by breaking enemy weapons to just make your team teak less damage

I'm kind of glad you think that. As far as potentials to mull over: Treating it as a 'use Protect on these targets for 1 turn' power, only affecting one KIND of attack(regular or alignment, or picking a target(s) that MUST attack you for some turn(s). I like the first one, because as we discussed in previous threads - nullifying/skipping/choosing for other players turns is kinda lame, and it lets them choose to go after you or not, as well as makes you keep using it if you want to have the effect instead of fire-and-forget. The major problem i have with it making a player do something. Its kind of a hold-over power from when EVERYONE's special powers were op - 3 turn stuns, etc. It looks scary, but its easily fixable.

I've already been planning on changing protect to work starting the following turn to eliminate that first turn where the protected target can attack but not be hit. This seems like another good reason for it. Arguably the same could be true of "block escape."

One of the options in the Cthulhu Dark rules is to allow players to reroll, as many times as they like, so long as they risk their sanity on each roll. In the altered version of the rules I'm writing up, that translates to risking purity and/or decency each time you reroll, which could wind up causing players to make quite a few Corruption or Indecency checks in a turn.

Perhaps something similar could happen here? Allow players to sacrifice a point of armor or take a point of corruption each time they want to reroll their results?

As for taunt, I'm probably going to not use it unless it's re-worked. It may be a good idea game wise but I don't want to ruin 2 something weeks worth of progress with a 3 turn taunt. I can understand where Lily is coming from.

Well, I was thinking taking effect the following turn might be too much of a nerf on protect, it's probably simpler to just have everything happen in declaration order. That way you can't invalidate someone's flee move by using "block escape" later, and a flee action won't invalidate a whole rounds worth of attacks that were declared first.

As for irresistible taunt in particular, maybe it could instead work on a single target, and make Comet the only valid target for attacks, (Actions targeting an enemy) or instead work specifically on fighting actions (dealing armor damage) with other types of actions being unaffected.

Alright, I just finished writing up the rules for the Cthulhu Dark version of the game and pasted them into the planning document, if anyone would like to take a look at the rules I'm proposing. Actually I was planning on changing how damage works before going into the boss battle and having some outfit redesigns happen partly because of that. The short version is after this battle, the layer buffer is going away, and you won't have to aim attacks, everything gets hit highest to lowest automatically. This screws over splinter, so she'll probably want to re-assign her armor points. It also becomes a nice point to bring up that I intended for each part on a layer to have different numbers of armor points assigned so there's a distinct order.

There are still going to be three armor areas, they'll just only count for corruption attacks that go by how exposed your character's body is. My NPCs make for good examples.

I've got a similar problem, myself. I haven't really found a good trick for dealing with it, but I suspect that the solution is to just bite the bullet and turn off your computer when the time comes, regardless of how interesting what you're doing at the time is to you.

Speaking from personal experience, this can be far more difficult to do than you'd expect.

Question about Flower's disadvantage - how exactly does it work? Is it a flat value added? A percentage? Is is added at some point during calculation or just added to the total purity/corruption lost?

I've found its easier to fall asleep on your back as opposed to sides or other positions, and yeah like, read a book to sleep, get some water, brush your teeth again, or other non-computery/non phone things go a long way towards kicking your brain into 'lets not be active' mode. Just thought I'd say, Lily and I have done quite a bit more and updated the log to match now. And then came a sensation that he was familiar with, the feeling of hot, sticky white semen splashing all over his face and chest, his eyes closing automatically to avoid the risk of some of it getting into his eyes and the scent of it filling his nose rather easily. Unlike the last few times he had experienced these sensations, however, this time the semen splattering him wasn't his own, and he could feel the corrupted mana that it was charged with tingling slightly against his skin as it gradually evaporated into the cool mansion air.

The samurai was kept from needing to immediately think about what had just happened when the demonslayer collapsed into him, and he reacted quickly to catch her, reaching up and helping to guide her down into his lap. Her arms encircled his neck, and his arms wrapped around her body as well, holding her tightly to him, even as more of her magical essence spurted out over his stomach.

He had plenty of questions that he wanted to ask her, questions about that once-hard member that was no softening up between them, where she had gotten it, whether or not it was really what it had appeared to be, if she was going to lose it now, or if she was stuck with it… However, those questions all faded to the back of his mind as he saw the look on her face and felt her kiss his nose. The only thing that really mattered at the moment was that he had been able to save her, and he joined her in laughter as they sat there together.

Isabel staggers back into friends as crimson axe pushes her back, bumping near other girls. She holds up a hand, not pushing it. Axe can have her way, glancing back to her team, about to check if anyone was knocked over or jostled unacceptable.

She turns just as Idol starts stripping, jaw drops, and is suddenly much more embarassed than she was moments before. Kind of red, isabel looks between Idol and Lily, thoughts of all those naughty messages via communicator while she was on the wrong side dancing in her head. A'but' forming on her lips but never quite going anywhere..

The silver valkyrie is someone isabel's eyes turn to as well, want to say something apologize for her behavior earlier, ask for hints to how the veteran valkyrie deals with this, or something else entirely, isabel looks away again. Between sweet, pure lily and shockingly pretty naked idol, the call of a teammate asking for help…

I'm not jumpin in because this is splinter's show but she's been a bit MIA and I don't want to steal the thunder - and I have no action this turn.

Isabel firmly grasps both the valkyrie and samurai's hands, stepping backwards towards her needy teammate, pulling them along with her. "You're part of this team too," isabel says firmly to the others but mostly the valkyrie, cementing the bond and backing up until she's back to back with idol, blue hair against blue. Enough to whisper encouragement and a shoulder or bulkwark for the purification, bringing others just close enough that they can decide how the nookie crumbles. Its impulsive, but feels right.

"Wait, what are you doing?" Silver Valkyrie asks as she sees Electric Idol stripping down.

It takes a bit of convincing before she actually believes the notion of needing to be naked to actually be cleansed of corruption, and she shoots Passion Flower a bit of a glare when the suggestion comes up. In the end however, she lets out a bit of a sigh as she starts to drop her armor.

Passion Flower seems a bit giddy as clothes start coming off, wasting no time in shedding her vines.

Well, here's how it's going to work:

From >>63596 until the end of the 10th, existing players will be able to declare moves. Just in case of a shortage, new players will be able to join as well, to a cap of 8 players total. (I think we perma-lost at least two. . .)

The short version of character creation goes as follows:

You start with 6 points. Two can be spent on an Ability (Character-specific action) or an Advantage (automatic beneficial effect)

Two points can be earned by taking a Disadvantage (an automatic effect that hampers your character)

The above are called traits, you can have only two total, and one of each.

Remaining points go to increase stats: Armor, Attack, and Regeneration

A point spent in Armor adds 5 AP to the base 10.

A point spent on attack Raises attack power by 2.

A point spent on Regeneration will enable you to heal 2 AP in battle or 5 away from enemies.

Finally, decide on your character's outfit. Assign armor points to the head, upper, and lower body areas, Multiple layers can be assigned to the same area, but they must not have the same number of AP. The strongest layer will automatically be the outermost, and be the only one that counts against corruptive actions.

It's also recommended to give your characters favor text to better describe them to the other players.

New players will replace abandoned characters in a retcon, and the energy crystals they earned will be handed out randomly to characters with none. If Comet doesn't come back, a straw will be drawn for that position as well.

Existing players take priority, but if few enough are left, I'll call a vote to decide whether to finish the floor, or go ahead and start the D6 game.
