When did this happen? i totally don't remember this. the series is so far set in the obama presidency time (if a different timeline.) and has generally been pretty good with it's timing.

Despite being socially awkward and mental health issues Elliot has a group of friends who care about him and drag him out of social isolation, a high paying job, something of a purpose, and even a gf at one point. Of course it would be really bad TV to make him full doomer and just have him as a total loner.

i think the character of elliot is what peak doomer is. he wears a black hoodie, stays up all night, does drugs instead of drinking, has clinical depression, the show literal plays some doomer songs (i just rewatched the first season i noticed disintegration and where is my mind are redone for the show), and other things. elliot is the most relatable character in a show for me
