I would not change anything. Human beings are animals, and like every other animal, the only thing one truly cares about is one's own survival. Mutualism and parasitism are just paths to that end, depending on what the circumstances dictate. We are but computers that process information we consume, and evaluate and act upon incentives towards the goal of self-preservation, unless one only encounters never-ending despair to which they commit suicide. You can maximize the human species' IQ points, but you will never overcome the inherent scarcity of information, nor our innate sense to survive and further our survival in anyway we can, no matter the cost or what the truth is. Humans aren't broken, we're working just fine like everything else in nature. We may be able to construct complex structures, tools, abstractions and relationships, but we're only doing it far better than other animals capable of such feats. Wolves and lions have tribes, chimpanzees have rituals and religions, birds have languages, monkeys trade with each other, some insects form complex structures and even farm. If everything in the universe is bound by a set of laws, why would we be exempt from those laws?

I would give all humans a built in video game menu and player display with health bar, sanity bar, strength level, charisma level, IQ level, speed level, luck level, quest log, options screen to mute the sound and other features that they can tweak. Only you can see your health bars at first but humans will quickly develop technology to analyze those settings for medical and military purposes. Depending on your actions quest logs can change from get a job to find a new job and even kill this person if a specific individual decides to create or accept that quest.

If the menu screen only brings up the menu as an overlay but does not freeze time it can still be used to reduce uncertainty. The overlays do not completely eliminate uncertainty, otherwise it would be pure slavery, but it lessens the burden to such an amount that people find it easier to live life. An artificial menu system also makes it more believable that this world is not serious or not real and so people are less afraid to take risks creating a more fun humanity.

The newfound stability would allow new nations to build themselves up, and the abundance of nations would allow them to compete more efficiently with each other, attracting talent and investment from other nations.
