Most of my personal problems in life and problems with society as a whole stem from a deep distrust of people. The environment, relationships, culture, government and society can now be all viewed through one lens; things that impact my self; things that will either make me feel better or worse; things that I can use.

But being manipulative and trying to reach own goals with lies - oh boy, how many people told me to do this and life will be easier, and I couldn't. How many people just climbed over my back just because they had their cute lie and I was saying the uncomfortable truth. In school, in work, I'm always known as the trouble maker. What I learned is that lie really can't go too far and eventually it will backfire on you and blow your whole face off. If I'd be rat, crawling through the life, climbing over other people's back, manipulate them, lie to them, I would just lose every bit of self-respect I still have. I also can't be like that, my dumb face and eyes are like mirrors to soul, when I tried to lie, everyone instantly knew I'm full of shit just when they looked on me, I also felt bad when I was dishonest to my parents and I learned that truth might hurt but saying it is way easier than coming up with lie and being worried when they will find out you lied. Also truth and honesty have one huge advantage - If you are honest and you say the truth, even if the whole world would stand in front of you and say "you are liar", you could be just fine because you know you were honest. This also applies to beliefs. It doesn't matter if they are right or wrong, as long as you are honest about them, it will give you more power to stand behind them but also question them. But after all, I have same problem as you, often I'm not being honest enough to myself, It's really hard to admit your mistakes but life is easier if you can do it.

Why this is dangerous is because it puts you to position of victim as well.
