Huh? You're "nostalgic" for being a drugged-out hippie loser for whom sensual pleasure is the only source of meaning? I thought you "doomers" were against the decline of Western civilization. This is just whole-hearted hedonism. Are you just jealous that you're not a "hip" young druggie in a nightclub, and instead you're an "unhip" degenerate druggie in your own home?

 No.212>>213

>>211

>he doesn't miss times when he could enjoy life

I assume it's not about drugs and hedonism.

 No.213>>214 >>215

>>212

Odd assumption to make, considering this entire thread is people lusting after nightlife and rave music. Don't you know those things won't give you fufillment? Not now, not in the 90s, never. Pleasure does not lead to happiness.

 No.214>>216

>>213

no offense but what's alternative? bitching about niggers on /pol/ all day? pleasure doesn't lead to happiness but being happy from time to time isn't really that bad either. you need time to "shut down" once in a while to regain energy etc. I don't drink or do drugs to be honest, I'm just saying, whatever brings you pleasure, it's not completely utter poison and in fact can be in reasonable doses beneficial from psychological standpoint.

 No.216>>217 >>218 >>539 >>867 >>10322

>>214

>>215

No. I am a Christian. I'm not really a "doomer" myself, I just saw this board in the top bar and came to see what it was. I don't want to sound "preachy" to you all, but I can assure you that the "alternative", which is not really an alternative, but the sole way of life that there is, is Christ. The reason we exist, the fulfillment of our very humanity, is to become like Christ by joining ourselves to Him. Aside from this, there is only death.

 No.217>>220

Well, I believe Christ was Abraxas's manifestation on Earth, so I believe Christ is God already

 No.218>>220

>>216

feel free to discuss whatever you like here. this is very personal type of topic, long story short, i tried what you said, it wasn't good. i see my "relationship" to supernatural/God as struggle. I never understood why are we here, why we have to go through often pointless suffering that teaches you nothing. According to christianity there was some initial sin and then christ redeemed us or something. God left us here alone to do best as we can but we are not flawless.

 No.220>>221 >>222 >>261

>>218

It sounds to me like, whatever you went through, you were taught very little about the Truth that the Church actually asserts. God did not leave us here alone - He came down to us, and left us His Body, the Church. The Holy Spirit is present in all things, and upholds all of Creation. We are never alone, and moreover, we are indeed called to be flawless, perfect, as God is perfect - in fact, that is precisely why we were made, to become perfect, as God is perfect. We are here because God wants to share the experience of existence, of being.

>>217

If you believe He is God, do you follow His commandments? Or do you deign to determine for yourself what God is?

 No.221

>>220

>you were taught very little about the Truth that the Church actually asserts

I'm not denying that. It was my personal view.

>share the experience of existence, of being.

One day you wake up, go to school and get bombed or raped because you are unlucky and you live in fucking nowhere in middle east. I mean it's shitty example, but this world is full of POINTLESS suffering. What that has to teach us? You just die one day in agony, yes this happens, it served no purpose, or did it?

Things are accelerating, so the cultural distance between 1990 and 2018 is a lot greater than people imagine (this is partly due to boomer propaganda, and partly due to the boiling frog effect). The 1990s were the last 'analog' decade and that's what makes it memorable. Technology was fairly advanced but it did not mediate social relationships like it does now.

Abiogenesis is proven by our existence. Even if God made people, he created life from nothing, isn't that a fun little argument? (unless this is all just a simulation man 420blazeitfaggot) Proving God exists can be done, it just depends how you want to define God. For me it is that which encompasses everything as a whole which is greater than the sum of its parts, so if anything exists, in my opinion God exists. People disagree with this and view God differently than I do, that's fine, I don't care if people agree. Once you start debating this, you get into semantics and the whole argument starts to sound like two jewish lawyers arguing over technicalities in a pointless lawsuit.

This. I had a tiny chance to experience some small-time clubbing in mid-00s, only because my girl friends got me drunk and convinced me to go but I don't regret it tbh. The music was either some french disco style remixes, DnB or house. That was before edm crap wave got big. I don't know how it looked at that time in other parts of Europe. That was only later when clubs became bastion of 14 year old girls in shiny microdresses. I can imagine in western Europe the 90s must've been really nice because of the amounts of small clubs. When you have small place like that it somehow feels better. I don't know why people attended large shows with npc edm. Call me a normie but I'm glad I could be there with friends just dancing until 4am, nobody really cared that much about appearance, have all these funny stories, walking around the streets and doing stupid shit. All that energy and natural "youth beauty" I had, lol I also had friends. Thanks for reminding me that when I look to mirror I will see nothing but a older, weaker self with wrinkles on my forehead and bags under the eyes, thinking about youth, carelessness and friends gone forever, fuck you.

Early 00s were hated at that time because of some subcultures like emo or "scene" kids or however they called themselves, and bullshit like that. It had its magic though. Imo last time when things weren't in total shit. Great games, internet felt still kind of like wild west in certain places, design was beginning to transform, technology was still not mature enough so AI and heavy surveillance were still mainly conspiracy sci-fi themes of movies, even stupid pop songs from that era could be enjoyable sometimes. I really can't believe it's almost 15-20 years. I thought at that time that everything seemed so uniform, especially fashion but it was nothing compared to what we see now.

Gen13 here. The 90s sucked. I hope everyone I one knew dies. The girls were all raised by degenerate hippy mothers. I only found disappointment. I don't know anyone who's truly happy. My generation was the first to grow up in the ruins of a murdered America. We had the illusion that things could be changed by not being crappy boomers, but it doesn't work that way. We all have no choice but to ride the tiger. Maybe you will have something to look forward to. But you'll have to fight for it. I wish the best for you all.
