Faction: none, I didn't ask for this and I can see the point of view of all sides, those with great power have great responsibility, however tyranny in any form, i.e. making arbitrary rules as what sounds like the "Magician Society" does, doesn't sit well with me, so the "Bringers of Chaos" do have a point, but so does the Guardians of the Balance, plus I like their symbol my faith has that for the mark of the Trinity. All that being said, I am a Christian and I have to agree with the Immortal Hunters that such ultimate power really should only belong to God, but I'm also an American Patriot who believes in equality and freedom for all, and if their going to be all Spanish Inquisition about it (which I DID suspect, so HA!) and try to hunt down people just because their different, sorry pal that doesn't fly with me. So, I won't side with any of these fools, I'll form my own group and we will truly be balanced with views from all sides.

It was tempting to tell Pindlesnoot to go fuck himself, but ignoring him makes more sense at this point. I don't know exactly what aces he has up his sleeves. I don't want to ally with any of the factions though.

I took light beam as my main offensive spell because it's very effective against demons. Since I pissed off a demon lord it should see a lot of use. Shiro makes me immune to mindfuckery and my transformation magic makes me immune to being polymorphed. Those are two of the abilities that I would least want to be hit with. I would rather be killed than kept alive in some horrible state, since my pocket plane revives me when I die. Conditional magic could protect me from magic that restricts my movements. If I can't move I'll have conditional magic automatically teleport me back to my pocket plane and dispel me of any negative effects.

Downtime seems really inconvenient. If I remember to return to the safety of my pocket plane before the start of the next day I should be OK. If I wake up unable to use magic I'll just hang out in my plane and shitpost on the internet or something.

I tried to take a lot of abilities that synergize well with each other. Repeating magic and domination will let me permanently dominate people. Sleep, alter memories, and transformation magic will let me have all kinds of fun. Suspend biology will make it so I don't have to bother feeding any of my minions.

I'm going to be as sneaky as I possibly can. Keeping my power level down, I shall travel the world, setting up my own Teleport points. After I have a reliable network, and have gathered enough information about the factions, I will start my one-man crusade. I will start by destroying all demon agents I can track down. Then the Vampires. Then, I will do my best to get on the good side of the Immortal Hunters. Oh sure, they'll hate me first, but they won't be like that after I start wiping out all paranormal things in existence. I will keep on going, until the only paranormal beings left are those who sworn allegiance to me.

I'm gonna be utilizing technology alongside with magic. Why send a massive energy beam, giving away your location, when a .50 cal round does just the same. With my teleportation and concealment abilities, I will be untraceable, and even if I'm caught I have more than enough toughness and firepower to take out a decently sized mage army.

All the followers are waifubait power-drains anyway. I'm pretty sure I can find me a decent enough girl by myself.

No, there is only the message from the Magician Society and the declaration of war from the Immortal Hunters.

The Guardians of the Balance are unlikely to try to contact you in an open way that might be intercepted by others. When they make contact with you it will be through a different method. The Bringers of Chaos have no leaders like Pindlesnoot, and were instead introduced through Jester. The vampires want nothing to do with you. The demon faction is considered evil. If a demon lord tried to contact you with an offer while you were unconscious Beatrice would not necessarily pass on the message.

I guess I should have been more explicit there. Your interpretation was right though. The activation time is for the placement of the magic. After the magic has been placed, when the triggering event happens the stored magic will fire off instantly.

The girls who agreed to travel with you as companions all want something from you that you can provide because of your excess magical power. Beatrice is different. Beatrice is a very old and powerful mage that rivals Pindlesnoot. She has a great deal of magical power of her own and has no pressing need to share in your power. So, it's unlikely that Beatrice would choose to abandon her own plans and follow you as a companion if you were to choose to leave - at least not at first.

However, Beatrice does have a tendency to help people in need. That tendency to help others is why she is acquainted with so many needy people. It's also why she took you to her pocket plane in the first place. Given her personality I think it makes sense for her to give you the option of following her as an apprentice with the intention of teaching you about the many dangers of the magical world. If I update this thing I'll be sure to add an option that lets you stay with Beatrice.

Even if the player chooses to leave it doesn't necessarily mean that all contact with Beatrice will be cut off. Beatrice is the type to want to drop by and see how you are doing. If you accepted one of her pacts she will want to check up on your companion as well.

Dropping out of Beatrice's Pocket Plane, I register myself with the Magician's Society and then immediately not interact with the wider mage society more than I need to, disappearing into my pocket plane. In between shitposting from my plane and keeping Elizabeth charged, I'll venture into fantasy dimensions to kidnap and brainwash waifus before taking them back to my plane to live peaceful lives with the occasional bit of cuddling and/or sex. I'd definitely keep a Draenei in my own home. Elizabeth would, of course, judge me rather harshly for this…but what do I care? I'll have a whole village of demi-humans and monster girls.

My Pocket Plane will encompass a village surrounded by a peaceful forest and with a nice stream running through the center of everything. The edges of the plane will loop within the forest, meaning that you could walk straight out of town in one direction, only to walk back in to town on the opposite side. The houses will be decidedly modern in terms of style and utilities, including computers. Elizabeth will get her own home and workshop to continue her research and to craft Golems to aid in defense and construction.

I agree there probably should be more protection spells. I think the existing protection spells are far from useless though.

Magic immunity makes it so that enemy mages have to dispel you before they can hit you with magical energy. I wouldn't want to roam around in a world like this without protection from magic. I guess with pocket plane rank 2 you'll just respawn if they kill you, but what if they hit you with a magical effect and don't kill you? It would suck to get hit by domination and get turned into a slave, or get mindfucked and left alive in a horrible state. Magic immunity and conditional magic will help stop bad ends like that.

It's not useless for certain but I imagine some of those problems you listed aren't very problematic for the created character in this CYOA. Magical damage could be healed and even if it were cursed and you lacked dispel, I imagine such service would exist or companions could cover it.

I also imagine there's various other ways to defend yourself, body enhancement would probably work somewhat.

As for mind magic and such, though it's certainly powerful, I get the feeling that it's much harder to cast if there's a power gap, especially a wide one. Considering the companions, I doubt the average mage would have more than 3 or 4 spells. The created character has a potential 20, which is apparently enough to threaten a demon lord.

Still, you're right, magic immunity is very useful against magical opponents but is it worth an extra 4 points? Definitely needs more spells.

you would have to be stupid to not take Protection simply for Magic Immunity. It's the only way to effectively protect yourself from Mind affecting spells, even if you have resurrection based immortality with pocket dimension. Enjoy being mind controlled or driven insane. The other wizards might have only one or two spells each, but those one or two spells could easily fuck you up, especially when there are dozens of them at once and you dont have immunity+quick cast

Not taking Illusion is also a mistake. You need Conceal unless you want your enemies to know exactly where you are at all times. Even if you are nigh unstoppable like I am, it's still annoying to deal with them 24/7. I guess you COULD just fuck off to a different dimension (which I probably will).

Conditional magic seems extremely powerful as well. i could see a group of mages trying to attack together to get past magic immunity. One would cast dispel and the others could nasty mind influencing spells. Conditional magic gives the middle finger to those mages.

If my magic immunity is dispelled, recast magic immunity on myself. My protections would be reactivated with zero delay. They would have to have a timed dispel rotation or some bullshit.

With Quick Magic you can still recast it faster than they can cast Mind Control. If they start by pre-casting mind control so it lands right after dispel you can just kill the guy who is casting that. If there are too many of them you just quick cast get the hell out of there.

my spells are more focused on combat, battlemage style, with some others for utility and to counter some problems

the destruction and protection spells are pretty straightforward in their function,heal is for not dying on the battlefield, flight is for locomotion, plague is for wars and other conflicts with a lot of people involved, sex magic is for… we both know what i will do with it, suspend biology for convenience, telekinesis for crushing stuff, transformation makes me immune to hostile transformation magic and i can transform, myself and the others, on whatever i want, warp perception is for a better reaction speed and the divination spells are for get more information on my enemies and not being tricked in general

quick magic and conditional magic are insanely useful on the battlefield as a way of causing more damage or a fail safe in bad situation

i'm not inclined to any faction and i will ignore Pindlesnoot's message

Celes is the best for complementing my general strategy and her abilities are just too handy

the tsundere part was kinda turnoff but if she isn't annoying af all the time i think i can live with it
