To be honest I really want to take Dispersion Chalk (instead of broom, still using pinwheel on the twins), and pick Poppy as my second witch. She seems like she'd be a lot of fun in a not at all lewd way.
Problem is in addition to the side effects which might make playing games with Poppy difficult even given the low coast of that magic, it would further complicate the already extremely complicated thing I have with the twins, meaning no sex at all really

Blending Pinwheel and body and Body Swap will let her keep her body while granting me access to her magic. If she really likes getting caught off guard by twists, suddenly gaining a twin gravity witch should sate that appetite.
I assume Body Swap lets the soul witch retain their magic after the swap, otherwise they'd just be a regular person who dies when I do.
A part of me feels Miranda and her ability could be detriment to everyone around her. In another timeline I'd pick body swap and ring of immunity. Then I'd just ditch my old body so she'll never be a harm to anyone around her. The ring is so she doesn't immediately blow my head up after the body swap thing.

No unfortunately the body swap completely switches your roles. I'm not entirely clear on whether she actually becomes your soul battery or if you can power your own spells that way, but she does lose her magic. Some witches might take that better than others but it's a dick move regardless.

There's a lot that's not clear tbh so it's definitely worth discussion. It only says the Witch and Battery switch bodies, not "completely reverse roles". It also says "naturally, you'll also gain their magic", however doesn't implicitly state whether or not the Witch will lose their magic in the process. Imagine you're a Soul Witch in training. Wouldn't it be a little fucked up for the academy to grant an option to new batteries which fucks you out of doing magic for the rest of your life? And then if it does happen, why would you even bother attending magic classes at that point? Seem like it would be a very counter productive option on their part.
From what I can gather, it probably works something like:
>Witch and battery swap bodies
>Battery gains magic
>Witch keeps magic they already have
>Battery can power magic in both them-self and the Witch (since the witches soul is still bound to your human soul like a leech)
I'd say the most unclear thing is the matter of proximity and who dies if one of you die.
Proximity can go one of three ways:
>You can both cast only when close to one another (what I think is probably the most likely case)
>Closeness effects the witches casting but it doesn't effect yours
>Closeness effects your casting but it doesn't effect the witches
The death thing can also go one of two ways:
>If you die she dies, and if she dies you don't die (the regular way, and the most likely case assuming your soul also switches bodies during the body swap)
>If one of you die you both die (next most likely case assuming your souls don't make the switch and the death of one of you causes a chain reaction killing you both, i.e. she controls a body with your soul tied to it and you control a body with her soul tie to it.)
Kinda hard to say anything for sure with the limited info but it really makes you think. That's probably one of the best things we can hope for in a good CYOA.

The fact that the witch loses her magic is confirmed by the author. I'm fairly sure he also explained how the soul thing worked after the switch, I just don't remember. Yes, it IS fucked up. Apparently they are so hard-up for souls that they are willing to screw over their students just to ensure that SOMEONE gets magic.

You should have lead with that. I can't exactly make a solid choice without knowing the full specifics. Now im wondering why the author didn't just update the CYOA to clear all this up.
On the off chance I power my own spells and don't have to care if the witch dies I guess I'd just steal the body of whoever has the best powers like an asshole and get a Soulbloom amulet to boost it. Fucking over someones life for free powers and immortality seems like a fair trade.
