/cyoa/ - Choose Your Own Adventure

If it's all /cyoa/-related stuff, I think we should join. There's hardly enough posting here, even regarding the good ones.

The intent was a board with all sorts of /tg/-ish boards whose contents are not considered proper for /tg/. So quests, cyoas, hunger games, whatever.

It wouldn't vanish unless we would request its deletion. But it would then be superfluous.

While Traffic is low this board serves as a kind of archive for CYOA , which otherwise would drop into the oblivion of nearly forgotten folders. Getting more people onto a board doesn't help the CYOA content if these people don't care about CYOA content.

That's because /tg/ isn't really concerned about Quest or CYOA material. They'll be glad if people stop posting that on their own board, but beyond that only a few seem actually interested and I guess we have to put up with that.

Looks like the Discord thing is dead as well and only our two boards and maybe the guy that took over >>>/twgrl/ have shown any interest. If you think it's still worth trying though, then drop me a line. I personally don't like Risk stuff, but CYOAs are cool and much more Quest-related, they make great Quest premises so there would be some common ground for posters. I think that even if only the two of our boards have merged, it could be for the better. Towergirl stuff is fine too, I guess. It wouldn't be even half as overhyped as in the /tg/ meta, but we all really just want a bit more content, if we can have at least that then it's something.

Pretty much this. Quests were banned from 4/tg/ with the arrival of /qst/, but CYOAs were not, at least the last time I've checked. They had CYOA general there and each thread linked to a Drive/Directory that was just overflowing with CYOA material, and the OC from the threads was being added there as well. /cyoa/ can't really compete with that, just as it's pointless for us to act as an archive when there's already sup/tg/.

If /fg/ becomes only /quests/+/cyoa/ then Quest material wouldn't drown out CYOAs due to the fact that our own community is as small as yours. We would need to have 15 pages of content to start worrying about any thread fading, none of our boards ever came close. It'd be a miracle if we did. You could in theory set up a cloud/drive thing like guys from 4/tg/ did if you insist.

I know that CYOA people and material would be helpful for us because posting in CYOA threads could be a way to spend the time waiting for the Quests to update. In an ideal scenario, a particular CYOA image or a choice post may spiral into a Quest. Really, the links are so strong that blending our communities in would only be a matter of time. Cross-posting could hopefully encourage creation of more OC, which is what we're supposed to be about and what we all need so much.

I've claimed >>>/fg/ (for forum games) myself, in case /play/ goes bad or if you'd rather not mix Risk content in or if that name suits you more. We didn't really even vote or ask other BOs about it, Suo chose it on the opinion of literally two fa/tg/uys. Mentioning this just in case.

TL;DR, I was reluctant about mixing at first too, and still kinda am, but I realized at this point we have nothing to lose, and could potentially gain something. At least when it comes to /quests/ and /cyoa/ relationship.

I say we should go down trying.
