Starting with drawbacks: Suppressant, Hated, Valuable, Uncanny, Aging, Bodyguard, Controlled, Limited, Traitor, Toxic, Memory Loss, Pain

Enemies: Fiona Dawley, John York, Bubbles, Alex Keller (traitor)

Perks: Training, Expert, Squad (Origin), Defector, Charisma, Prime Subject

Allies: Lindsey Reyes, Ryan Elmore, Hannah Caldwell, Yuito Katoka (Charisma), Corrine Devoe (Defector)

Origin: Mutagen

Appearance: Beyond Human, Statue-like. My super soldier's skin looks like it's made of marble. To the point no pigment is present in any part of my body and the skin looks slightly chalky. Additionally, Flight 1 will be attained by two massive angelic wings that also look like marble.

Faction: PMC

Powers: Points total=64

I take Natural Weapon 2 from my origin.

Strength 3, Agility 3, Endurance 3, Durability 3, Enhanced Senses 3, Stealth 1, Reflexes 3, Natural Weapon 3, Natural Toxin 3, Immunity 3, Mind Reading 1, Self Healing 3, Unarmed Mastery 3, Predator 3, Power Burst 3, Mental 3, Shape Shifting 3, Flight 1, Focus 3, Directed Energy Attack 3, Adaptability 3, Extra Limbs 3, Self Improvement 3, Inheritable 3.

 No.1840

>>1839

For the starting powers I'm going with Immunity 3, Durability 3, Adaptability 3, Self Improvement 3, Self Healing 3, Mental 3, Flight 1, Stealth 1, and Mind Reading 1.

I'll use Self Improvement 3 to boost my Mental abilities further, run a few missions, and then sit down with Yuito Katoka and figure out how to fix my weaknesses.

My character is functionally immortal so doing some ridiculously dangerous but well paying operations will keep the PMC happy while I have Lindsey Reyes find my group a place to hide while Yuito and I focus on solving my drawbacks starting with Toxic, Memory Loss, Pain, Aging, Suppressant, and finally Controlled. This way I am no longer dangerous to be around, I avoid losing myself, and then avoid physical degeneration, the suppressant is a possible tip off and with Expert I imagine I can make my own or have Katoka help me with it. Once all of that is taken care of I'll remove the Bodyguard device and tell my superiors to either deal with it or fuck off.

I'll then lay low and take missions until all my powers are available at which point I'll use Inheritable 3 on my Squad and Allies to give them all some of my powers, with Inheritable 3 being the most important. In exchange I'll ask (not tell), using Charisma, to use Inheritable 3 on me, eventually giving me all the powers Devoe, Caldwell, and Elmore have as well. At this point I'll drop out of public view entirely and pay the PMC off to give me enough time to experiment on myself until I have all of the non origin restricted powers, though thanks to Devoe I'll have access to the Magical origin.

At this point I'll return back to the public view as with my team and deal with my enemies. Bubbles will simply be ripped apart by my group. Even with an army of enhanced animals I highly doubt he'd stand a chance against beings of the caliber of my men. Caldwell should be grown at this point and hopefully see me as a mentor and something of a father figure as I fully intend to train her as much as I can during my time experimenting on myself and others. So having her assassinate Keller and Dawley shouldn't be in any way difficult. For York I'll pick him up and fly him into outer space. Fuck that guy.

At this point I'll go pick up any powers that I don't have access to along with the Unique Weapon, Transport, and Armor perks and Safehouse, Identity, and Authority (I'm a veteran, if reserve member of my PMC) once possible.

Since I'll be in as strong as possible position I'll likely start hunting down and killing other superhumans while continuing to experiment and train. I don't really want to rule the world but if I do I'll probably use a boosted Mental power to invent FTL travel so I can colonize the galaxy (and hopefully find aliens to kill) and shit.

I guess I'm sort of vulnerable, or at least not in any way especially resistant, to mind control. Otherwise I think I'm pretty unstoppable. All I have to do is follow some rich guy around and jump in front of the occasional bullet, those thigns barely hurt me.

No offense man, it just seems boring. Yeah you have your bros, but you have to follow a rich guy around EVERY DAY. They own you now. It's one of the reason I chose PMC what with them letting you do whatever so long as you bring in a profit. Also, shapeshifting so I can be a good husband and father to my dark mage waifu and super ninja (adopted) daughteru respectively.

I get what you're saying. I just saw this for more of an adventure thing yah know? Add to that I really don't see any of the options letting you not kill people. And you also have to worry about the Valuable drawback. You've got to fight those guys off.

 No.1848

While playing around with this cyoa I wanted to take a weapon able to take out other super soldiers and looked up armor piercing weapons. I was enlightened.

Durability 3 makes you only vulnerable to armor piercing round or explosives, that will make you as durable as a ww2 tank.

Strength 2 allows you to punch through a tank, given the otherwise modern setting I assume a modern tank is meant as well. These however are unharmed by either explosives or so called armor piercing ammunition. You only rockets and specialized warheads are effective.

Still strength 2 allows your punch to penetrate a tank, making it incredibly powerful compared to any other options.

There is the armor perk, but we are not even talking about strength 3.

It should be just another normal day for John York.

He was on the hunt in a peaceful forest enjoying the calm nature around. His mind wandered to the information he received some time ago. A "super" boasting about picking him up and flying him into space. People warned him, told him of his many ways to counter supers, but he replied: "He's just a man. He can't be that dangerous."

Well, given the running and flying speed of most supers he had about 8 seconds before they leave the troposphere, the lowest atmosphere. Space is a few minutes further up, but he would be already at these altidudes. He knew the guy, he was around a few years already, but they somehow never clashed. He took a moment to pause and wonder what changed his mind.

Suddenly a heavy jerk hit him and he was lifted upwards at rocket speed. His sunglasses and rifle slipped down towards the forest.

It took him 3 full seconds to recover from the shock.

"Hi, chalky. You made me drop my sunglasses. How rude."

5 seconds passed. A short moment of silence followed while John already felt how the air become cooler.

"Well at least i didn't drop my cap." said John, right before the explosion hit them at around 7 seconds. Several directed charges hidden snuggly on his back and his cap blasted the marble guy into bits.

John fell towards earth, the way down would take longer than the way up and while the brunt of the detonation was directed at his attacker and hee wore a protective layer to disperse the pressure he still feelt like he had been hit by a truck.

"He may even have seen the explosion." He thought, but at point blank there was just no way to get away in time for him.

John reached into his pocket and took a miniaturized air supply out of it. The small bottle lasts only for 5 minutes, but enough till he'll reach the ground. He was more annoyed by the cold.

He reached in the pocket again and put replacement sunglass on. Then he pulled the cord for the first parachute to slow his desend a bit.

While he was floating towards the earth he grinned. Another hunt successful, it was just another normal day for John York.

That's actually pretty fucking hilarious man.

Too bad I never planned on actually confronting him till I had Mind Reading 3. So I don't think hidden explosives would work very well. Never mind the fact I would have had Enhanced Senses 3, so I would have been able to smell whatever explosives were used. "shrugs" Also, how would he have survived an explosion of the size needed to kill someone like my super? A claymore, a pretty weak directed explosive, will still fuck you up if stand within a foot of it no matter what side you're facing. And these explosives would need to be physically attached to his back, so how does he mitigate the concussive force, or avoid trauma to his bones and internal organs, even if the shrapnel or explosive itself miraculously didn't harm him at that range. Add to that, how would he conceal something like that? Also, I pull reasonable inference: If I can juggle tanks and move faster than eye/outrun bullets, my body has to be able to handle those stresses. I would be able to shrug of anything short of strategic munition simply because of the fact my body would have to be able to handle forces far beyond that of even tank rounds.

Still that was an absolutely fucking hilarious idea and it might of worked if I hadn't made my character as OP as I did. Also, fuck that guy. He's a bigot that gets off on killing supers just because his dick is small and he doesn't have super powers himself.

Also, everything I said was joking, I'm not trying to start something. 'k mate? But do you think something other than a nuke or another super could kill my super?

 No.1855

>>1851

Hi, and glad you liked it. This CYOA is already breaking the rules of physic and it is breaking them hard. Thus my interpretation is that durable is the only indicator on how durable the super is against attacks. As anon inferred above this places a super at max at a ww2 tank durability, which is extreme for a person, but easily killed by a claymore, or several.

Concerning your other points, they might be valid, but let's keep in mind York's final ability, pure luck. If after all those years he is still around fighting supers he must be more dangerous then nearly any other foe on that list.

I rather fight a strong enemy that has no idea what he's doing, than a weak enemy with a lot of experience. Especially true as I always prefer the sneaky approach myself.

>Foes (apart from Ryan): Ghost (I take safehouse), John York (I take signing bonus), Immortal (I take Expert)

In my safehouse, of course, I have a training area with all that I need. I become a mix between Wolverine and a Space Marine, also using my supergenius to do mad science and also being some Batman kind of guy. Sad that no flight, ki blasts and shit for also throwing Goku into the mix, but whatever.

Thanks to self-healing I can live for lots of years, so an early investment in supreme training won't be that bad. I also spend all the time into it, I stop sleeping (endurance is the first thing to train). Then I train everything else. I keep training all the time. That, plus eating people (if they attack me, or eating the recently dead people), plus training mental first (so I can understand how to train even better) (Using Expert, too) makes me the best. I then train on how to get every other superpower, artifically if needed (as I'm super smart, and have Expert so I can understand more about superpowers). Then I break the game. I kill York by simply outliving him, the ghost I can't kill, so I think I'd make a pact with him, turning him into "satan" (if he's up to it), wiping the floor with the weaker bodies he throws at me (either way, he's confirmation of an afterlife so that's fucking cool, keep at it, bro). Either way, I'd fight the ghost but I'm not sure what the win condition is with him (but with my supergenius I'll figure something out, IF there exists a way to trap him) (can you even kill a ghost?). With Ryan Elmore, since he's such a follower, I think it'd be possible to lure him into a trap or something, especially if, if he's working for someone (probable), the upper ones have no super smarts (also possible).

With the Immortal dude, I'd simply beat him, not killing him, and then put him in prison. Then jettison him into space with life support mechanism (so he doesn't die and come back somewhere, unless I discover that he comes back with the same body, or somewhere near, in which case I simply leave him strapped to a concrete block and let him die and resucitate constantly, for all of eternity. Being stronger doesn't mean he can get _new_ superpowers (does it?), so he can't fly back to Earth, but jumping, walking or getting a ride in any other spaceship is plausible. If he comes back to Earth, it'd be fun to see. It'd be hard, though, if he's just strapped to a concrete block. Hard to finger a spaceship in the vastness when you are in a low albedo object with no tools or shit to make a radio transmitter.) (or maybe use Expert to find a way to depower him, and the Ryan dude too)

I live my life from my safehouse. I invest the money and know where to put it, so I can live comfily ever after. I get a job just for the social opportunities, and get into university to learn everything. Then I build cool shit like a fusion reactor and a FTL drive and shit. The bad guys won't be able to get me if I go to space. Then I can just leave Earth and boom! bad guys won't get near me. Even with a lunar base I'm still quite good (and before getting there I train immunity hard as fuck, wouldn't want a guy punching a hole into my base and vacuuming it). I'd also go and build a space cathedral and shit, it'd be tons of fun. Then I'd find the renegade band of other superheros and chill with them and be cool. I don't care for fighting. If I can make a deal with the bad guys around it'd be okay. The only one I think I can't talk with is the human guy, but he's batman-tier so he's already more than human. I could use that to convince him.

I also would get the money from the rich friend, then invest it smartly, then pay him off (debts are not for friends!), then be rich with him and snort coke from hookers (blow wouldn't do anything on me thanks to my super physique and immunity, but it still would be fun). Then I show him around my moonbase.

Plus, she just sounds like she'd be cool to hang out with and maybe play some vidya.

.

Yuita Kataoka seems like an all around great pick if he can help me with my powers and help me figure out how to beat my enemies. Would be fun to talk science with as well.

Fiona Dawley is the PR department. Even if I only choose to fight for battles I believe in, super soldier business is a messy business and it would be nice to have someone put some spin on it. Will resist the urge to waifu up, as that is Lindsey's job and I don't want any friction on the team.

I signed up for a scientific study and arrived at the testing location at the posted time, only for the waiting room to flood with some kind of gas that knocked me out quick. When I woke up, I was chained to a cold altar with a circle of masked Suits chanting from fancy-looking binders, and what quickly followed is a sensation that I can only describe as my mind splattering across the room before splashing back into my skull…just with a few newly-formed tendrils slithering about. Something else also settled in my skull: An artificial loyalty. After the ritual completed, I was unchained before being led to a sterile-looking room and debriefed.

Apparently I, through a combination of strange and mundane factors, was a perfect specimen for a super soldier program with a decidedly magical bent. They had awakened my psychic potential, and toughened my body against most mortal needs and damage, but at the cost of my free will. At least I've got the consolation prize of a hefty salary and the Agency dealing with my papers should my cover be blown…I'm still not happy about my free will being tampered with, though. I guess that it is nice that they have given me access to the documentation for both the magic used to give me my power and the magic used by the Agency in general. Also, my job is to collect intel on domestic terrorists and to…influence…the local populace in troubled areas within the US. They usually provide me with a small apartment in the area. Speaking of the Agency, I don't have much contact with them past the initial encounter. The extent of my contact is 3 folks: My Penpal, My Contact, and My Handler.

My Penpal is Lindsey Reyes, a young hacker girl that got into the wrong files and got pressed into working for our mutual benefactor. She seems to have a thing for me, if her word, grammar, and topic choices are any indication…not to mention the pictures, but I've got no idea why. From what I've gleaned from my Contact, they know about our communications, and they would prefer to keep it that way just to keep me grounded. I don't think that she will ever be within range of my power, unless the unthinkable happens.

My Contact is Agent Olivia Blake. She is a hardass that has a special disdain for me due to my, from her perspective, unearned power. She tells me what the Agency wants, usually with a sneer and an edge of glee that I cannot disobey.

My Handler is John York. He is apparently a notorious killer of super soldiers in spite of being a normal human, and the Agency somehow got him to join up. Now he acts as my bodyguard, and as a failsafe in the event that my forced loyalty breaks. John seems bemused at the fact that I am a meek schlub over my head, and he takes an almost friend-like role with me. I say friend-like because he always seems to have 5 or more contingencies on his mind whenever I peek in, and I am VERY sure that those are dummy plans.

Can I have some bootleg Jean Gray or Susan Storm powers? Throwing fire around is kinda boring and I never got a Telekinesis option.
