I think it's both.

You need to pay their trade cost to get them for your pens the first year, after that it's what you get for selling.

I find it odd that rabbits of all breed would have such long gestation periods. Otters having such greater reproductive abilities seems strange to me.

When I get some time with a spreadsheet I'll play out the simulation mode as that sounds fun

The Plan:

Each otter will provide a litter of 6 every 6 months. Devil Breed doubles the children and halves the length of pregnancy. This give 12 offspring every 3 months. Assuming 3 month recovery time for the mother we get 24 offspring per year.

Base price of offspring is 3G. +2 from Motivation: Riches. +1 from Devil Breed: Lust Devil. Double from Community: Senzen Kingdom. This gives a price per offspring of 12G.

With 24 offspring annually, and 12G per offspring we get 288G produced annually per otter. With 60 otters we get 17280G annually.

My Lifestyle:

At 60 otters I will have to average just over 1 impregnation per week. A timetable will need to be established to ensure high production. After a number of years working this farm, I should have enough funds to move on to something else (purchasing my own farm while obtaining noble status, moving to another community, something else)
