This is an interesting one; I'm surprised there are no responses. The Stasis Field is tempting, although I recognize the fact that humanity is more likely to nuke itself into oblivion than get to a Star Trek utopia in the distant future, so it's a no-go. I'll take it ONLY IF the traveling man can guarantee that it'll be a nice place wherever I show up, and then I can live in that utopia. If he cannot or will not, I'll take the History Jump, but I would not use it right away. I would keep it secret and safe for probably about a year — long enough for me to write down everything important to me on a laptop computer. My memories, my experiences, my novels, my life and personality and being as an adult. Taped to the laptop is a note bearing simple instructions of how to use it and where to navigate to get started piecing myself back together. I'm sure I'll figure out a few other useful small things to take with me. Then I'll take it back through time, to my own life when I was about seven- or eight-years old. Even though I won't remember anything of the past ~20 years, with the extensive information I put in the laptop, I can regain most of what is useful and valuable. When I'm done, I'll print out everything on there for safekeeping and then destroy the harddrive. I will then have my parents sell the rest of the laptop, for a few million dollars, to IBM or Apple or Microsoft. I'm sure they'll be delighted to acquire hardware with 20 extra years of advances, and it will have the added effect of boosting the tech world by an approximate amount. I then get to relive my late childhood and teenage years in comfort, without making all of the same mistakes. I'll have a jump-start on my writing career and the smarts to excel in school.

I love the dedication put into this. GHD is dumb. I understand the amnesia factor is meant to keep you from going insanity with immortality but it actually makes it pointless. You are made susceptible to past timeline mistakes and if you die you are really fucked because you come back with almost no memory. That is really retarded. Time Tripper is ultra dumb. Not as dumb as GHD but you will go insane and the anti-time ripple effect is the worst thing when coupled with the 8 bill RNG. Stasis Field is great but it has a lot of disadvantages. First your immunity system will be real shit if you go too far so best to be in a suit. The earth could be destroyed in any number of ways or the location could simply be royally fucked all around the bubble and you can't just bubble right away because the 24hr recharge. Best use is in short bursts but then loved ones get old and die so best to use it maybe one time for extraordinary profit after most your loved ones are already dead. History Jump is great because you get to alter the fuck out of history and get to tell yourself you made a new timeline and aren't erasing the old one effectively killing billions of people. There is the chance you doom all of humanity inadvertently trying to better it or could totally destroy the world if you wanted to. It is best to be in a suit for the sake of OTHER people and do it at your current age because the amnesia factor would suck big time. Back in time to 1963. Stop the JFK assassination and hope america and the world flourish from it, technological improvements I provide and any forewarning of at least immutable natural disasters. Hope I don't just immediately get erased from history. Oh my god I realized old JFK is the chronomancer and went to my timeline where he dies and gave me the ability to save him but then how would I go back in time to save him if he lived? Fucking wibbly wobbly bullshit.

>Repeat the same lapse forever
or
>You are sent to a less advanced culture and can´t go back
or
>Leave your life forever to travel to an unknown future
or
>You can´t make a settled life, not even for a few days
They sound like curses more than gifts. If I´m forced to chose one I´d take Stasis Field (only one controllable), otherwise I would ran away from that man.

Regarding GHD, I think it might be best to write down the salient lessons learned from each decade and keep a book.

I'd pick the stasis bubble if only because it's the one with the fewest disadvantages

Yeah, I never understood these CYOAs where every option is worse than just not making a choice.
