Hoi chummers,

I've needed to update jinteki.industries for years now, and have just been lazy about it. Given just how much needs to be added and changed, I figured I'd reach out to the board for help.

The front page needs to be restructured and cleaned of dead links, but I'd appreciate any fresh links that should go there. I'm going to add a new section of places to visit (like /cyber/) instead of the bloated subheader we have now, and a little history section for Jinteki.

One of the biggest tasks is going to be cleaning and updated the books/movies/games/anime/tv/music pages. I'll merge movies and TV, but I want to go a bit more in-depth, and that's where I really need help. I want to put mini-reviews and summaries for all the major works in these categories, but it's way too much for me to handle. If you feel so inclined, pick one and write a one-paragraph blurb that's both a short review and summary, and give it a rating out of 10 for how good it is, and how /cyber/ it is. If you want your review to list your handle, put it at the end of the review and I'll credit you, otherwise you'll be credited as anon.

Of course, post anything else that you think should be added or changed.

also I've been thinking about a domain name change to disassociate the site from Netrunner, post good domains. cyber.life is taken so unless someone wants to give me a few grand that's off the table

I kinda like the jinteki.industries reference. Also, it sounds like a cover corporation, which fits the setting.

I'd suggest leaving the domain as it is.

Also, what about new content? Can I finally write howtos and have 'em published?

I could write something about PKD's books. Not sure about reviews because those can be kind of divisive but a small blurb like a summary and what are the easy reads and good places to start and such.

Changing domain doesn't preclude having a fake corp domain. I've thought about putting the site on something like cyberlife.info, but I could still register some Japanese-sounding .systems or .industries. Could even do a corporate-looking landing page and leave the cyberlife content hidden but still hotlinkable.

It's mostly a matter of fixing my short-sightedness in picking a name that's copyrighted and associated with a product. I've never gotten any threats or the like, but I'd like to move towards a more original name.

Your website's really helped with my archive, we talked once a long time ago, so maybe I can help you out since I've been taking japanese for 7 months straight on my own.

I'll list some random generated names off the top of my head, use them if you want don't if you don't.

YR-Sakana (Wire fish, Sakana being fish in japanese and YR pronounced as 'wire')

MimirTV (Named after a nordic god of knowledge)

Schweyland Utani (I think you know)

Momi's MU Rental (Negaunits, cyber2020)

Alkaline Atlas (Science and culture, works right?)

Yamato Eris (Yama, mountain in jipspeak combined with the particle 'to' for companion to denote a relationship with another company, 'eris')

Neto-Stock (The borrowed katakana wording for 'net' combined with 'stock', as this is an information website)

Jackin's Repository (Jack into the repository)

Mirumirror (Miru, to look, mirror, read our shit.)

Wakaruwall (Wakaru, to understand, datawall)

Not the best but maybe something will pique your interest/give you some ideas. Maybe I'll pop back in and throw in any I can think of.

Thanks for the suggestions. If you want to catch up sometime, get a Matrix client and join banter.city, I'm pretty much always lurking #general.

As for the name, I don't mind if it's absolute gibberish - it might actually be better that way. I'd also like to incorporate the gtld into the name, the way that jinteki.industries currently is. There's .systems, .network, .club, and a few others that would work.
